I'm now too old for a real pit but that doesn't matter because I haven't seen a real pit at a show in 23 years. In a real pit you will find large angry misfits, longhairs, working class drunks, the occasional lawyer, and an ever-present storm of skinheads moving like human claymore mines. It was hard to stand without the moving crowd because the floor was usually slick with a mixture of beer, vomit, blood, and I'm sure there was some teeth. This is not hardcore.
