  • She's odd. No denying. But I fucking love her!

  • "I'm very otherworldly" I fucking love you miss Amos.

  • she's sooooo awesome!

  • The guys from "Tool" shot a piano with a shotgun and destroyed it. Then she and Maynard sang muhammad my friend live. :) maybe she didn't know their crime!

  • @yogeesunshine i was thinking about that xD

  • Thank goodness for geniuses like Tori

  • How to tone your butt and thighs: play the piano like Tori. :D

  • I think it's so beautiful how she tells the story about that black guy and plays piano music with it that seems to fit in perfectly. It's so dreamy. I love it.

  • Tori a tiny window into a dimension of pure creativity. She's not crazy, a part of her psyche is just in another dimension.

  • Lmao. "We're making friends."

  • today's female Beethoven, virtuoso, genius!

  • The most gifted ones are strangest.

  • She's crazy, but in a good way.

  • beautiful <3

  • tori piano = awesomeness <3 <3 <3

  • "If I saw somebody destroying a piano I'd f****in murder them. Wouldn't think twice..."

    I love this!!!

  • My favorite interview of tori !

  • wow, she seems like an amazing person!

  • She's absolutely awsome!!!!!

  • "most pianos will tell you that" LOL love it

  • good old days

  • God, she's just so intense. I feel her when she speaks, I feel her right down to the bone. It kills me how everyone dismisses her genius as oddness, or craziness. My soul quivers when she sings. She's just amazing.

  • i love how every random thing she starts to play on the different pianos sounds like a masterpiece...

and i think pianos make her high.

and i kinda wonder if she's ever had sex with a piano. lol

  • @TheDowntown86 If you're wondering if she's ever had sex with a piano, you've clearly never seen Precious Things XD

  • @TheDowntown86 Well I think we all know the answer to that!

  • She is one awesome crazy piano woman. I love her.

  • Mozart is so overrated...

  • I love how the piano goes with the story. Every story.

  • i can't get enough from this video!

  • Oh how I miss Tori before she started wearing garbage bags and wigs.

  • This is during her drug period. When she was still young, hurt, new, fresh and eager. She was humble yet genius. I love this Tori. I love the proceeding Tori's also, but this is her best. The songs of Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink and Boys for Pele show it.

  • @antuonchris I just said this exact thing to my friend! It's so true! Love her always though. Scarlets Walk was actually really great, maybe even as good as the first three. Gold Dust is just amazing.

  • Im only 2 min into this video and ive decided that once again i have FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS WOMAN.... again. I fucking love her. yup. just needed to announce it. again. .oh jesus

  • @velouriesa This is exactly how I feel every time I see this.

  • I have tried for years to describe Tori. The best I can come up with is 'gifted'. I thank her for sharing her gift with us.

  • i'd love to take a stroll inside that woman's head. can you imagine?

  • "if i saw somone destroying a piano, ide fucking murder them" hahaha ohhhh you crazy bitch, shes too awsome

  • I love Tori so much, but I think she may be slightly high in this video. She was pretty young in this vid lol. She so charismatic in all her interviews but she isn't ever a odd lol. I love it though!

  • When the guy says "you played Mozart too right?" and Tori breaks in to Mozart.. She flex's her musical muscles.. AWESOME Moment. AAAAHHH Youth is such a wonderful thing..

  • aaaaaah. A young Beautiful Tori Amos in her PRIME. I remember seeing her in a bar in Hartford CT. in 1992. She had SO much talent is was insane.

  • where is the rest of the interview? thanks for posting!

  • she looks happy.

  • @bigcheesy95

"Happy" is not exactly the word I would use.

Probably more something like "nutcase" or "high". :p

  • I agree with @tojupiterandback.. I still listen to her all the time, but don't listen to much past Scarlet's Walk. When I see Tori now, I become sad. She almost seems lifeless compared to how she used to be. You can feel the energy and fire she exudes in this video and it is a beautiful thing to see. I almost become mesmerized by her in this video. She is still very talented and I still love her, but this video reminds me of the Tori I fell in love with. Thank you so much for posting.

  • This is one of my favorite videos all the time AND she's rockin the denim + denim.

  • She says she'd murder someone for destroying a piano, but she burned a piano for a picture in Boys for Pele. I'd love to hear the explanation behind that. :) Thanks for posting!!!

  • @slivertoe Maybe it was a brand she didn't like. :P haha.

  • @slivertoe It was kind of symbolic. In Boys, she was destroying a part of herself.

  • she is brilliant

  • Where is the rest of it?

  • I'd probably beat the shit out of someone if they wrecked a piano

  • @hellishfox you and me both (and probably tons of other people) bebe!

  • I want to marry this woman. But I'm 15. haha. (:

  • She's an angel

  • she's an angel

  • She high? : ) I love her.

  • it's been a while since i haven't listened to tori's music. specially since my disappointment with her later stuff (i don't mean to start a debate here). everytime this disappointment hits me, i return to this video and get numb by it...she had a flame in her fingers and the lightening was just all over her body. tori is such an inspiration.

  • hahahaha i love Tori but i never thought she could scare me. was waiting the whole time for her to lose it and start laughing uncontrolably, lol.

  • SAME .. I wish I could see the cameraman's face x)

  • 5:05 is beautiful..

    can't stop watching this

and the oklahoma bit is awesome!

  • 2:03 is hilarious

  • You see? *frown* :d 8:24

  • 0:40 pls just tell me this is a song, not "freestyle", and gimme title :F

  • That's Tori's freestyling my man!

  • ....thats i love you tori

  • Wow! She's nuts!

  • Isn't she great ;D

  • She's definitely an original!

  • @JosephCa64 Yeah isnt it great!!! :)

  • there's no way you couldn't love tori after watching this. (:

  • I couldn't love Tori any more, but seriously, don't do drugs.

  • I miss her haaair

  • "these are my friends"

haha I love Tori. This video is what first got me into her. Incredible. Much better quality this time around too.

  • I revisit this once in a while because I just find it tremendously amazing. What a BAD ASS. This will never cease to amaze me!

  • Me too. Once a week and it still amazes me.

She is absolutely unique as an artist and her passion is unmatched. Just watching her warms my heart.

  • I absolutely totally DITTO this comment. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. Frigen AMAZING. GOD I LOVE HER MORE THAN I COULD EVER EXPLAIN!

  • She is amazing,

Being a bit eccentric doesn't hurt anyone, does it?

  • She is incredible !

She does lose herself. That is so amazing to watch !

    Unreal......

  • my god...she loses herself in the music as i do

  • So sure she was on something... but I still love seeing her play while telling a story. Amazing.

  • Don't think she'd be on something, some people just seem like they are cuz they're so different I think

  • 0:10 is that random or is that one of her songs?

  • I believe that was random. Amazing, huh?!

  • I saw this for the first time about 7 years ago, and it literally changed my life. How do I describe? I'm a classically trained cellist (and by profession also) and this just blew my mind wide open.

  • Great music . But murder someone?

    Yeah.....she's not "quite right".

    I hope she was exaggerating.

  • I am quite sure she was.

I think her statement was made out of an unusually strong passion for her music. If you listen to the way she talks about the pianos, and personifies them, you can tell that she has an amazing relationship with an object that allows her to communicate with the world in a way that few are able. She is able to express the vast array of emotions through an instrument that has become part of her very existence. It is NOT to be threatened by anyone.

  • IMHO, of course.

  • Jesus if I saw somebody destroying a piano I fucking murder them.

  • I´d*

  • by far the truest and best statement she makes in the video

  • am i the only idiot who saw this and after a while, specifically when they get to the mozart part started to cry?...i mean, most people aren´t even really alive, ..and she´s exactly the opposite of that, so fragile...i relate to that and watching her go is moving, fun, and almost a relief...

  • She is a true genius and prodigy!

  • Wow. That's all the characteristics I need in a great musician. Technique, improvisation, knowledge and - most important of all - soul. People who make music without soul are craftsmen, nothing more.

  • She's brilliant, genius, funny and its like having my best friend in my house talking for hours and hours and hours. I love her. I feel like I've known her for centuries. In my 34 years I've not loved any other artist as much as I love Tori. She's an amazing musician and an amazing woman.

  • Indeed. :)

  • I conquer! I f'ing love this woman!!!!

  • She is so awesome! Definately an eccentric character!

  • Can someone help me, what did Tori said when she arrived at the Bosendorfer shop, she said "This is like and ice cream shop.." and then said "serious...." serious what?. BTW thank you so much for uploading the HQ!

  • serious calories in this store...

  • reply to sillyanniegirl:

    Thank you :)

  • She said: serious calories in this store :)

  • reply to artemisiacc:

    Thank you so much :)

  • I think she said "serious calories/in this shop"?? LOL

  • reply to SolenneVox:

    Thanks! :-)

  • She's really good! :)

  • fantastic. this is the tori that i feel most at channel with. instruments are living things. songs are living things.

  • 8:00 sounds like Lady In Blue!!

  • It really does!

  • wow thanks so much for posting this x

  • I wish I could see a documentary of her entire life. She is one odd woman but it's part of her genius, obviously. It freaks me out to see a person who is able to channel themselves through an instrument so naturally.

  • read Piece by Piece?

    yeah, she's incredible D:

  • That improvisation at 0:09 KILLS me every time. I'd give my right pinkie to have a view right above her hands.

  • Tori is just amazing, I see my own weirdness in her, once again, thanks to her I know I am not alone. Tori you're absolutely something different. Amazing.

  • i love watching her shop for pianos, now if i could just watch her shop for shoes. hmm... This is so classic Tori and i love it !

  • (pianos are my friends)

    hahaha tori. x

  • Her weiredness makes me want to listen more

  • long live the weird people!!!! we are awesome!!!

  • agreed

  • I don't think she's ever been as beautiful as she is here. Just amazing.

  • I love this crazy lady.

  • The first time I saw this video via an ebay vid I bought 6 years ago, I was absolutely blown away. Yeah, okay, she acts a little nuts, but what comes out of the music is completely (as she says) 'other-worldly.' Unbelievable.

  • wtfff? Why did she do that? I loved this vid with the intro!

  • Are you?

  • No but you obviously are IDIOT!

  • I remember reading an interview where she talked about going to a friend's house and just playing the piano for hours on end after getting laughed at for Y Kant Tori Read. The friend just sat and watched her and later made the comment that Tori was made for the piano.

How true! I love the 8:00 min mark especially...it's like someone unconsciously playing with their hair or another body part; the piano is an extension of her. Lovely to see the music match her mood.

  • Haha, she is a genious :D

Every good artis is a little eccentric, right? :)

  • this video makes me laugh with her, she seems so comfortable and happy.

  • Thanks so much for getting this up!!!

  • The HD is SUPER!!! :)

  • Lizzy :)

  • Tori's musical genius innately manifests from the core of her magical brain !

  • What a gem! Thanks!!

  • Whether Tori is on something or not Hehe, shes a creative minded person, and they can be rather quirky sometimes! I love her tho, weirdness and all. Its what makes her who she is. Thanks for posting!

  • Bless Her

    She's Amazing

    <3

  • Oh.. Remember watching this thing when it aired! Thanks for putting this up here!

  • shit man incredible

    thx so much

  • This video is awesome!! I love candid videos of Tori.

  • does anybody know tori's idol?

  • @shirleywoodsarah I know she's said Robert Plant and Kate Bush were very big influences.

  • wow. i love her

  • thanks!

  • I like the way tori makes friends with the piano's.

    Great video.

  • this vid is soo true she tells it like it is love that about her=)

  • Incredible post !

  • i love tori - i wonder what she's on though?

  • This video was shot years ago. With that said, she has openly expressed her fondness for cocaine,LSD, and mushrooms.

I doubt she was high at all during the filming.

She's an odd bird to begin with.

  • Shes not a junkie, she's an artist. MAny artist are weird jeez.

  • Who said she was a "junkie" ? Read her interviews.....she's very candid and honest about her drug experimentation .

  • She had to be kidding!

    Mushrooms? Gosh. :p

  • nope. She talked at length about her spiritual journeys via psychedelics in an interview.

  • You know, i was just kidding ;)

In this interview she surely looks high on something....
