The guys from "Tool" shot a piano with a shotgun and destroyed it. Then she and Maynard sang muhammad my friend live. :) maybe she didn't know their crime!
I think it's so beautiful how she tells the story about that black guy and plays piano music with it that seems to fit in perfectly. It's so dreamy. I love it.
God, she's just so intense. I feel her when she speaks, I feel her right down to the bone. It kills me how everyone dismisses her genius as oddness, or craziness. My soul quivers when she sings. She's just amazing.
This is during her drug period. When she was still young, hurt, new, fresh and eager. She was humble yet genius. I love this Tori. I love the proceeding Tori's also, but this is her best. The songs of Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink and Boys for Pele show it.
@antuonchris I just said this exact thing to my friend! It's so true! Love her always though. Scarlets Walk was actually really great, maybe even as good as the first three. Gold Dust is just amazing.
Im only 2 min into this video and ive decided that once again i have FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS WOMAN.... again. I fucking love her. yup. just needed to announce it. again. .oh jesus
I love Tori so much, but I think she may be slightly high in this video. She was pretty young in this vid lol. She so charismatic in all her interviews but she isn't ever a odd lol. I love it though!
When the guy says "you played Mozart too right?" and Tori breaks in to Mozart.. She flex's her musical muscles.. AWESOME Moment. AAAAHHH Youth is such a wonderful thing..
I agree with @tojupiterandback.. I still listen to her all the time, but don't listen to much past Scarlet's Walk. When I see Tori now, I become sad. She almost seems lifeless compared to how she used to be. You can feel the energy and fire she exudes in this video and it is a beautiful thing to see. I almost become mesmerized by her in this video. She is still very talented and I still love her, but this video reminds me of the Tori I fell in love with. Thank you so much for posting.
She says she'd murder someone for destroying a piano, but she burned a piano for a picture in Boys for Pele. I'd love to hear the explanation behind that. :) Thanks for posting!!!
it's been a while since i haven't listened to tori's music. specially since my disappointment with her later stuff (i don't mean to start a debate here). everytime this disappointment hits me, i return to this video and get numb by it...she had a flame in her fingers and the lightening was just all over her body. tori is such an inspiration.
I absolutely totally DITTO this comment. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. Frigen AMAZING. GOD I LOVE HER MORE THAN I COULD EVER EXPLAIN!
I saw this for the first time about 7 years ago, and it literally changed my life. How do I describe? I'm a classically trained cellist (and by profession also) and this just blew my mind wide open.
I think her statement was made out of an unusually strong passion for her music. If you listen to the way she talks about the pianos, and personifies them, you can tell that she has an amazing relationship with an object that allows her to communicate with the world in a way that few are able. She is able to express the vast array of emotions through an instrument that has become part of her very existence. It is NOT to be threatened by anyone.
am i the only idiot who saw this and after a while, specifically when they get to the mozart part started to cry?...i mean, most people aren´t even really alive, ..and she´s exactly the opposite of that, so fragile...i relate to that and watching her go is moving, fun, and almost a relief...
Wow. That's all the characteristics I need in a great musician. Technique, improvisation, knowledge and - most important of all - soul. People who make music without soul are craftsmen, nothing more.
She's brilliant, genius, funny and its like having my best friend in my house talking for hours and hours and hours. I love her. I feel like I've known her for centuries. In my 34 years I've not loved any other artist as much as I love Tori. She's an amazing musician and an amazing woman.
Can someone help me, what did Tori said when she arrived at the Bosendorfer shop, she said "This is like and ice cream shop.." and then said "serious...." serious what?. BTW thank you so much for uploading the HQ!
I wish I could see a documentary of her entire life. She is one odd woman but it's part of her genius, obviously. It freaks me out to see a person who is able to channel themselves through an instrument so naturally.
Tori is just amazing, I see my own weirdness in her, once again, thanks to her I know I am not alone. Tori you're absolutely something different. Amazing.
