Thank god I don't have to repeat the whole callsign...all you have to do is say "taxi to and hold short of runway 28 Left, mooney 4KS" only the last three numbers/letters is required
Stuttgart delivery delta echo alpha bravo zulu Cessna 152 position golf alpha tango VFR charter flight to Freiburg via sierra with information mike request taxi.
Glad that where I am you read the instruction/clearance back before the aircraft's callsign. If I had to say the callsign first having been given an instruction I think I'd forget what it is that I'm supposed to read back every time.
In australia we repeat the instruction directly, ending with aircraft call sign. You do no have to repeat atis(except for QNH which you do have to rpt), anticipated assignments, or other advice regarding conditions, but all other instructions ( runways, headings, clearances, arrival at cleared heights, leaving cleared heights etc) have to be exactly re-stated. If asked to spot traffic you must confirm if traffic seen or not seen.
here in Manchester UK the "position and hold" instruction became very important at EGCC after a serious incident between pilots and tower not clearly understanding each other - I do like these videos
i have played fsx for 2 years im 12 and i can fly a plane, but im not good with terminology and radio cotntact and all that complicated stuff, but hopefully ill get there someday!!!!!
@playstationrox999 dude? you seriously think you can fly a plane with FSX? FSX is not 100% realistic. the 747 model is crap. the agusta eh101 can do backflips. think twice.
@playstationrox999 what happens in the computer world is not anywhere near what you get in the real world i bet you if you flew with me and tried to fly something that Martha is flying you would not be able to. If you want to fly then seek a flying school but don't tell them you can fly on FSX it will make you look like an ass
@playstationrox999 flying on a computer is totally different mate. fsx doesnt simulate everything in the aviation world. i woke up when i took my first real lesson. what you learn in fsx can certainly help you, but dont assume you'll be able to fly in the real world.....especially if you fly in fsx with all realism settings off and auto mixture and auto rudder on.
It helps you, but it lacks realism and sometimes you'll have bad habits if you are going for real life flying. My instructor instructed some of the habits that FS might cause you.
My first ATC tryout was really really hard and sometimes forget the names of the traffic patterns. But, it is normal. As you keep flying, you'll hear your instructor's calls and you just try to imitate your instructor. I asked him to get clearance and he told me to do so. It was nervous for first time, but you'll improve after each flight.
they are very professional but the best pilots ever? I don't think you can say that until you put them in a fighter going mach 1 trying to shoot a target the size of pin prick. But thats just me.
they make such a cute couple.

@TheCharger895 oh yea man, thank god...cuz one extra number in the call sign would have made that read back totally unmanageable.

Why is she saying her call sign first, is that just a USA thing, you wouldn't be popular with atc if you did that anywhere else.
insaneclown271 3 years ago
i geuss it is a usa thing, we do it al the time

I'm in the US and I usually say my call sign first, but not always, they don't seem to mind, neither do my instructors.
