It's called VMWare, and it works great. As for hardware to price ratio, you MUST be kidding! Apple's hardware is severely outdated in comparison to the latest PC technology. Compare the current 17" Macbook Pro to an ASUS G73JH laptop and it will all become clear to you. Even the 12-Core Mac Pro gets bested by the Dell T7500 which offers proper workstation graphics cards and a 192GB RAM maximum, as opposed to Apple's 64GB max. MSG me if you need help on this.

It doesn't really matter what machine you use. If you're an artist, you don't need to own a Mac. If you're a business person/gamer, you don't need a PC.
Sure, they run the software with different efficacy (PC's are better for gaming, and art/music software are easier to manipulate with Macs.) But, you can still game on Macs, and use Photoshop/Ableton on PC's.
I run both, but I use them for different purposes, as expected.

Mac OS is better then MS Windows not becoz of Microsoft being uncreative and such. it's just that Microsoft has to accommodate the many different hardware type and configuration out there made by the multitude of computer makers. Apple has more control over its OS because Apple decides from the start what hardware it's gonna run on n such. It's the same problem faced by Android n here lies the main reason behind all the stability issues with Windows and Android

Pick whatever's best for you. And if you don't know, then it comes down to do you want simpler hardware (mac) or cheaper systems (windows). If you really don't know, then both systems will do what you need them to do, and if you do know your mind's already made up.
Bottom line...if you want a computer that will do all of your basic needs without worrying about it slowing down or getting a virus then get a Mac. If you need a specialty computer like for gaming get a PC like Alienware. I've never meet a person that owned both and chose the PC over the Mac. So next time someone down plays the Mac ask him if he owns one or is just biased because he only has a PC. I own both and I prefer the Mac.

There are good games for PC, (Amnesia, MC, Crysis, TF2) but no Killzone 3, Uncharted 3......
With a console you just buy it and you're ready, no setting up. If you BUY an already made gaming PC then it will cost well over $1000. But it will kick a consoles ass.

I've never seen the "CleanmyMac" commercial, have you? People just want to be able to log in, do what they gotta do, and log out. That's why sales are up during a recession when money is tight. Mac users usually have had bad experiences with PC's before they decide to spend the extra money.
@Ramel34 Trust me, if everybody knew the failure rates on foxconn computer parts, nobody would be talking about how reliable Apple's products are. A bad experience with a Windows/Linux OS is almost always the users fault. I have used windows 98/vista, and the many problems that other users had with it, I did not have because I know what I am doing.
@Ramel34 I own a macbook pro, also I recently bought a MSI fx 420, I feelt scammed when I saw that the msi fx 420 runs faster and it cost just 700$ compared to the macboook 1500$, also about the OS both are good but in my opinion windows wins because the open architecture it has, its easier to do "advanced" things on windows.

I'd rather use EyeTv to record from my HD PVR than total media extreme, however I'd rather edit on Windows due to 6GPS support and SSD caching on the z68 platform with GPU acceleration to encode video.

It doesn't really matter what machine you use. If you're an artist, you don't need to own a Mac. If you're a business person/gamer, you don't need a PC.
Sure, they run the software with different efficacy (PC's are better for gaming, and art/music software are easier to manipulate with Macs.) But, you can still game on Macs, and use Photoshop/Ableton on PC's.
I run both, but I use them for different purposes, as expected.

Mac OS is better then MS Windows not becoz of Microsoft being uncreative and such. it's just that Microsoft has to accommodate the many different hardware type and configuration out there made by the multitude of computer makers. Apple has more control over its OS because Apple decides from the start what hardware it's gonna run on n such. It's the same problem faced by Android n here lies the main reason behind all the stability issues with Windows and Android

Mac's are made for creative people......PC's are for business people.....personally I hate using a Mac but it's mostly because I've become accustomed to PC's but they definitely have both contributed to the industry....I think moving into the phones and music and iPad was a brilliant idea.......Jobs will be missed......I wonder if Apple will fall apart now without him......I hope not

I wonder... do mac users enter all the porn sites that they can find over the net? do they download warez at all? do they play games with crakz ? do they install all those magical "free" speedup and antivirus utilities that you come across surfing the web?... well if Windows users stop doing that then their Windows PCs would last problem free just as Macs do... Once Viruses were made as statements, now they make money to their creators... and they just attack the larger customer base... I think

Bottom line...if you want a computer that will do all of your basic needs without worrying about it slowing down or getting a virus then get a Mac. If you need a specialty computer like for gaming get a PC like Alienware. I've never meet a person that owned both and chose the PC over the Mac. So next time someone down plays the Mac ask him if he owns one or is just biased because he only has a PC. I own both and I prefer the Mac.

My entire company uses Macs for business, but when the paychecks came in we all purchased PCs and we LOVE THEM compared to the macs we're provided, and no, one of them is not any newer than the other they're both moderately similar in specs.

According to those statistics it's clear that Macs are becoming more popular than PC's.

@IAmSomeoneOrOther Problem with that is custom built PC that has better graphics and FPS than xbox/PS3 will cost at least $400 if you're lucky, and there's a lot of games on console that aren't on PC.
There are good games for PC, (Amnesia, MC, Crysis, TF2) but no Killzone 3, Uncharted 3......
With a console you just buy it and you're ready, no setting up. If you BUY an already made gaming PC then it will cost well over $1000. But it will kick a consoles ass.

A PS3 is $249...So even if you get used parts and illegally get an OS you still can't beat the price of a console. Then you need a keyboard and mouse. (PS3 comes with controller)

@canascot02 I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I hooked it up to my flatscreen and use it like a Netflix device. The only site I go to is "Letmewatchthis" other then that it's a paper weight. Those who say PC's are better then Macs run into problems when you look at the statistics. PC sales are down 2% while Macs are up 27%. Apple is now the number one most valuable company in the world over Exxon. What does that tell you?

I don't use mine for anything because the hard drive is corrupt and even if I were to buy a new hard drive and install windows again, it's glitchy and things crash a lot. Really?! I didn't know about the increase in sales for mac and the decrease for pc's, yeah that says quite a bit lol.

However, I do not know why anybody would like a Mac OS. It is pretty much made for people who know nothing about computers. Therefore, any mac user does not know what they are talking about when they say "better".

@MINICLIPGAMER When people say "better" they are referring to the reliability. You don't hear about Macs getting viruses or having problems like PC's. I've never seen the "CleanmyMac" commercial, have you? People just want to be able to log in, do what they gotta do, and log out. That's why sales are up during a recession when money is tight. Mac users usually have had bad experiences with PC's before they decide to spend the extra money.

@Ramel34 Trust me, if everybody knew the failure rates on foxconn computer parts, nobody would be talking about how reliable Apple's products are. A bad experience with a Windows/Linux OS is almost always the users fault. I have used windows 98/vista, and the many problems that other users had with it, I did not have because I know what I am doing.

@Ramel34 I own a macbook pro, also I recently bought a MSI fx 420, I feelt scammed when I saw that the msi fx 420 runs faster and it cost just 700$ compared to the macboook 1500$, also about the OS both are good but in my opinion windows wins because the open architecture it has, its easier to do "advanced" things on windows.

@Ramel34 I own both and I prefer both, but if I had to pick one it would be windows. I can get any graphics card, I can use CUDA with the GTX 5 series cards and AMD APP. Sure you can do that on Adobe Premiere on Mac, but why not do that on Windows?
I've built a PC and it's a hackintosh, even with the hackintosh it took time for Apple to support the newer cards at the time. I'm a value person, I build my own PCs now, because I get most out of my money and performance and OS X doesn't allow me to

@Ramel34 That hasn't detered me from using OS X, It's much easier to organise work flows, and some applications have better mac counterparts. I'd rather use EyeTv to record from my HD PVR than total media extreme, however I'd rather edit on Windows due to 6GPS support and SSD caching on the z68 platform with GPU acceleration to encode video.
For a normal user, OSX is better for them because it looks cool and all that they're going to be doing is using skype and web browsing etc. However for tech

Though sadly, yes Mac OSX can now emulate windows, to run programs, it's flawed and has even further complications depending on the program ya, but that's also forgetting that the hardware to back high end programs would make a mac cost a considerable amount.
Macs aren't bad, they just are a bad Value price wise. Also don't forget, that professional programs on both sides kick butt.

Macs are not strong enough to play highest end games. Macs will not run BF3. I like Apple, i hate their computers. iPad and iPod are great, but Macs cant play games like a PC can because Macs cant have the best NVidia, and CPU's, comparible to a High-end PC.
