I started watching videos in 2006 and created a channel in September of 2006 but I didn't post a video until September 2007. So it's been quite a while for me.
i started to watch youtube videos summer 2007 and after finding to many people to follow off my own memory i created an account january 31st 2008. i have uploaded vidoes, but have since taken them down because i wasn't totally comfortable with the whole i don't know who's watching me, also the style of my videos. but i currently have 3 videos in works to upload soon, possibly for p4a.

I've never made videos on my personal channel but I do have a collab channel but all the videos are privated because it's just a way to communicate with online friends instead of doing it for the sake of creating contet.

I just made a strange discovery. Many older videos on other channels had people I didn't recognize in them: Lots of those people were you. You look very different than you used to, and it makes me feel very unobservant.

I started watching the Vlogbrothers in April this year and this changed my life because since than I am discovering Youtube and all its amazing Youtubers. So, I stick around for about for 7 month watching videos and I'm wondering if I should also dare making videos, but I don't have time, I don't know what to talk about, I don't have a good camera (besides that integrated in my Laptop) and I know nothing about editing...and I don't know if I should vlog in german or english oO

I don't have any videos up anymore... they used to be clips from my favourite shows to music (yup I was that cool!), but I started on 12th Feb 2007. Time flies!

Even though I've never fully involved myself with the community, I think being a watcher (primarily) has changed me in a lot of ways. For instance, I'm a lot more open minded now towards a lot of social issues. And! I even type coherently now, so that's good :)

My favorite part about going through older videos of yours is seeing how your hair has changed. Sometimes I feel like your hair changes kind of go along with your development as a vlogger. The first videos I saw of you were 5AG back in the days when your hair was short(ish), blonde and curly. And you still seemed pretty shy and like a good little girl to me.Now your hair is crazy red. And you don't appear to be shy at all anymore. :)
I joined in 2006 but I didn't get into the whole YouTube community thing until early 2010 and didn't start making videos until that summer. I also think this is a great way to look back at the past, what better than video to see and hear and revisit your past experiences?

@CloveForay Thank you! And there are no words to describe how pumped I was when John and Hank featured me for Nerd Factor, but as far as vlogging goes, I still have a LOT to learn. Especially compared to some of the veterans--like Kayley, for example. In those respects, I'm definitely a fetus.

I deleted my first account because I wasn't using it for anything except posting AMVs that I struggled to make as I figured out editing software. That account was from the end of 2006 (I think) and I really wish that I hadn't gotten rid of it now. My current account is from the end of 2009. I made it because I'd started watching vlogbrothers videos and wanted to subscribe/rate/comment on P4A stuff.
I found Youtube probably five or four years ago but I never thought of actually commenting on it. And then I discovered your videos and Vlogbrothers and starting actually this past April did I begin posting videos. I wish I could have been apart of this wonderful community sooner.

I signed up four years ago, at the age of 12 (right before I turned 13, because I asked for a video camera for my 13th birthday). My aim wasn't to vlog, though, it was music; but at first all I did were really (REALLY!) crappy acapella covers of weird songs. I also made the mistake of deleting them instead of un-privating them! I like to think I've come a long way since those days... xD

I started when I was 11 in the summer of '07 (because my brother made videos), and I made really random videos that no one cared about. Now, four and a half years later my channel is definitely catered towards music and arrangements and video editing. It took my a long time to realize that was what I wanted to do with my channel.
I made my first account in the summer of 2008, after having watched for a few months. I made it to subscribe to people. I made this account to make videos on a little over a year ago. The reason I made a new account is to have a better username...lol no.
I made this account in 2007, at 11, and had a sideways video of my cat on it, that's it. I started my video channel, actually making videos, in January 2010. In spring-summer 2009 I had discovered the vlogbrothers, watched all their videos, found basically everyone I'm subscribed to through them is some way or another and the rest is history! :)

I started really getting into youtube when i subbed the volgbrothers about a year ago after project for awesome. ive wanted to start vlogging for so long but i always film the videos and then dont like them enough to edit them lol
but its something i really want to to do because a lot of people on youtube really inspire and i want to keep meeting these new people and develop genuine friendships because its just a great community.
i have an idea for this project for awesome though!

I started watching the Vlogbrothers in April this year and this changed my life because since than I am discovering Youtube and all its amazing Youtubers. So, I stick around for about for 7 month watching videos and I'm wondering if I should also dare making videos, but I don't have time, I don't know what to talk about, I don't have a good camera (besides that integrated in my Laptop) and I know nothing about editing...and I don't know if I should vlog in german or english oO

I've been on YouTube forever. I actually started making videos in 2006 or 2007 (eighth grade!), but they were super embarrassing and can no longer be found. Unfortunately I didn't start again until earlier this year.

I've been big on watching videos on YouTube forever, but never really considered actually putting anything up myself until this summer. I believe my first one went up in August or September? I'm pretty much a newbie. I feel like I'm entering a different YouTube than you did because of how the website evolved and grew over the past 5 years. I'm much more hidden among other newbies.

I started watching videos in 2006, started making videos in 2009 but realised soon enough I had nothing remotely interesting to talk about and so went on a 2 year hiatus. I made this new account and have since started making videos again, and whether or not I now have something interesting to say, I let other people be the judge of that :)

I've been "on" Youtube for a little over two years now, I guess! Kind of weird, it's never felt that long. Even though I've never fully involved myself with the community, I think being a watcher (primarily) has changed me in a lot of ways. For instance, I'm a lot more open minded now towards a lot of social issues. And! I even type coherently now, so that's good :)

My favorite part about going through older videos of yours is seeing how your hair has changed. Sometimes I feel like your hair changes kind of go along with your development as a vlogger. The first videos I saw of you were 5AG back in the days when your hair was short(ish), blonde and curly. And you still seemed pretty shy and like a good little girl to me.Now your hair is crazy red. And you don't appear to be shy at all anymore. :)

I joined in 2006 but I didn't get into the whole YouTube community thing until early 2010 and didn't start making videos until that summer. I also think this is a great way to look back at the past, what better than video to see and hear and revisit your past experiences?

I started making videos but then I decided I really didn't like it. I didn't like how critical I got of myself. (I'm more of a blogger than a vlogger).

I've been watching since 2008 but I've never made a video! I still get a lot of enjoyment out of the community though. In a weird way I don't quite know what I'd be like without youtube either. I don't have youtube friends like you do but watching vlogbrothers and 5AG got me through the horror that was high school. So, thanks!

I deleted my first account because I wasn't using it for anything except posting AMVs that I struggled to make as I figured out editing software. That account was from the end of 2006 (I think) and I really wish that I hadn't gotten rid of it now. My current account is from the end of 2009. I made it because I'd started watching vlogbrothers videos and wanted to subscribe/rate/comment on P4A stuff.

I've been on youtube for a little over a year now, but i've only been vlogging since april (seven months or so?). Five years seems like an incredible journey. I feel like I've changed so much from just watching others and learning how to actually make videos. I can't even imagine where I'll be in five years! You kind of inspired me to start Kayley, because I started when I was 15, which was roughly the age you started at! So, thanks for that!

I've been on youtube for almost 3 years now and I started making videos on a collab with friends a little over a year ago. I'm glad I joined and got involved with the community when I did. Youtube has become my internet second home in some respects and I thoroughly enjoy the awesome community that's been built here.

I signed up four years ago, at the age of 12 (right before I turned 13, because I asked for a video camera for my 13th birthday). My aim wasn't to vlog, though, it was music; but at first all I did were really (REALLY!) crappy acapella covers of weird songs. I also made the mistake of deleting them instead of un-privating them! I like to think I've come a long way since those days... xD

You are one of the best at being able to balance being intelligent and insightful along with with being funny and occasionally a bit silly. It's a perfect mix. I started when I was 11 in the summer of '07 (because my brother made videos), and I made really random videos that no one cared about. Now, four and a half years later my channel is definitely catered towards music and arrangements and video editing. It took my a long time to realize that was what I wanted to do with my channel.

I made this account in 2007, at 11, and had a sideways video of my cat on it, that's it. I started my video channel, actually making videos, in January 2010. In spring-summer 2009 I had discovered the vlogbrothers, watched all their videos, found basically everyone I'm subscribed to through them is some way or another and the rest is history! :)

I made my account about five and a halfish years ago, when I was 13, but I only started making videos around March on my collab channel. I didn't think I was ever going to vlog independently of that except for a couple of video responses that I did, so by the time I realized I had made quite a number of videos it was too late to change my ridiculous user name.
Oh, and I think your hair looks great always, but that's just coming from someone who frequently makes videos with wet hair. :P

hmm.. i've been here for almost 5 years too.. although.. I'm not really around here all that much anymore.. i guess 13yr old me needed the internet and youtube more than the 18yr old me.. I find my blog shows more of how i've changed over that time than my youtube channel does tbh :)
