This video stresses me out because of the method, the way this dog is being trained.He did his business and yet still could not leave the bathroom. I never heard one word of praise for doing what was expected. The scratching of the bathroom cabinets is a sign of stress. He was saying please let me out! I'm not judging the person so much as I am the way this poor dog is being cooped up in a bathroom being filmed. You're right, this is only one side we see of their relationship.

I believe he was doing toilet training. When owners who live in apartments (having no garden for dogs to run to relief themselves) work and has no one at home during the day, the dog has to relief.

There are dogs who are outside trained totally, hold themselves till their owners return after a long day.

I think that holding their bladder would be even more cruel than being trained to relief themselves indoors. No?
