  • I like the remake shower scene better the hair on the killer looked way cooler

  • Anthony Perkins - Excellent

    Vince Vaughn - Good

Perkins played his part greatly. Vaughn played his own very well. But I say that original will do better. Original will win first prize and remake will win last prize.

  • Original > Re-make .....No comparison IMO

  • she doesnt even use soap. LMAO

  • Futile. What a waste of money remaking this, almost EXACTLY the same. Unoriginal. Idiotic.

  • ORIGINAL > remake.

shit. their Norman Bates in the remake was like ..uggh. i can't describe. :P

Anthony Perkins is so HOT. ho.hot.hot! ;)

  • i think the new one was an hommage to hitch....they never wanted to make it better.

  • @Maggo1987 IMO, an entire film for an homage is a bit of a waste. What could have been art became nothing more than a colorized photocopy with a miscast Vaughn.

  • i hate remakes of good classic movies

  • can't beat the Hitch. no way no how.

  • Anne Heche was a horrible choice to play Marion Crane - definitely not as pretty as Janet Leigh nor possessing the acting chops needed to portray the conflicted woman guilty of embezzling 40k out of love.

And Vaughn plays Norman Bates like a creepy lecherous pervert, preventing the audience from sympathizing with him. With two leads so horribly miscast, the Psycho remake was doomed to fail miserably, which it did.

  • at 1:08 the original is like "Where the fuck is she going?"

  • HAHA!!! You're so right.. I didn't catch that! LOL!

  • Lets have a vote whos hotter janet leigh or anne heche VOTE NOW

  • They're both

  • To quote Ebert;

"The most dramatic difference between Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" and Gus Van Sant's shot-by-shot remake is the addition of a masturbation scene. That's appropriate, because this new "Psycho" evokes the real thing in an attempt to re-create remembered passion".

  • the remake so stupid wht in the hell someone did the same movie just in color so stupid

  • as much as I prefer the old movie in every way, I must say that the other actors in the new version played their parts very well. They took it very seriously, and Vince surprised me.

But yeah. Old one all the way

  • @broadwaymelody33 Me too. Vince is good but Anthony is much better.

  • the old one is soooo much better! the new one doesn't even compare! what was gus van whatever thinking going against hitchcock??

  • i think he wasn't against Hitchcock with this. rather it was out of respect for him. and for fun... :) if i had a lot of money, i'd shoot some remakes. e.g. Evita with Michelle Pfeiffer despite of Madonna and so on. it's a good play. but i'm sure it was a respect-thing.

  • I saw the Van Sant one first but I like them both. I like the new murder scenes, but I think most of the performances in the 1960 version are better. I really like most of the look of Van Sant's version, it's very photographic. I remember liking Vince Vaughn in this when it came out, but now that I've seen both I think Anthony Perkins is definitely the better Norman. Too bad he wasn't famous yet because I think Lee Pace would have been a WONDERFUL Norman in Van Sant's version.

  • 1960 is much scarier, mainly because of the music

  • the remake sucks eggs boooooooo.

the original is better by infiniti number times

  • wow, that's really interesting

  • Boy, the remake sucks.

  • I judge him based on everything I've ever seen by him. It all stinks. Burton used to make awesome and original movies, now, not so much.

  • 1960!!!!!!

  • 1960s woops 1998 in the ass

  • Even by today's standards, the 1960 one seems much more brutal.

  • 1960 is much better.

  • LOVE IT! I think that it is awesome how the remaker's film crew matched the camera angles...to the detail...i love when he is in the doorway! they look the same!

  • Hitckcock > Van Sant

  • 1960 all the way!

  • Very interesting to see just how similar they are, gotta go for the classic in my opinion though.

  • 1960 cool

  • Prefiero la de 1960

  • more blood and nudity in the 1960 version

  • I prefer 1961 version

  • This is fascinating. Great job!

  • Fascinating!
