its 250 dollars for one of their workshops (and you get 2 hours of flights plus 10 hours training, and 2 hours of flying would normally cost 500 bucks upfront so that is really good) but you just missed one!
Yes, it's very sad. I loved landing there on a solo sortie in the Training Area, pretending I was a WWI flying ace, strolling back to the Sopwith Camel after a smoke and a coffee and taking off for a dogfight with the Red Baron. Nothing now. Sad, really.
Not sure. You could give them a ring. (61-2)9791 0055 Most commercial pilot students are quite young for obvious reasons but usually finish their secondary education first. PPL students can be as young as 16 but I have no idea of the numbers.
@mckseal lol....basair...thats like some cheap shit training probaly run by some retard who cant even fly himself... If u want real training go to whitworth aviation..5 times better than basair!
Why not try Pacific Flight Services. There's lots of place you can go, all about the same price as far as I know. I'd steer way from the big schools, though, because they're just too big to be friendly. But the guys at PFS are friendly and really approachable and they know you want to enjoy it, so...Ask for Nige...or just google TIFs and see what you find.
Um, this guy is still on the Bankstown Tower frequency when doing the touch and go at Hoxton Park, where he should be on the CTAF frequency and making appropriate CTAF radio calls... bad, bad, bad.
Not sure you're right about that. You can clearly hear an incoming call saying "Turning base, three four" which can only be Hoxton, certainly not Bankstown. The pilot would definitely have been making the right calls, so maybe just not audible to the camera, or else it was just a mistake the editor made.
what about aerospace aviation? i've never lived in australia and have no clue about the schools there other than what i've read online.. any advice? basair is full up till nov. and i was planning on enrolling in june after i obtain my ppl
Pacific Flight Services will be enrolling international students from May 2008. PFS is easily the most student-friendly of all the schools I know, without compromising standards at all. Give them a ring. The impression I get (maybe wrong) is that the other international schools just churn the students through - big and impersonal.
mate you can easly make it....you can even make it from downwind!!!!every emergency landing is different and you have to improvise. If anything upwind or xwind is the most akward place to have a engine failure. How many hrs have you done?
It seems weird you get your PPL and then stop flying???Whats the go with that?PS every student that goes up solo should know what to do before you go solo you should know that you have your PPL.
The Pacific Flight Instructors wear uniforms of course. Casual Private Pilot Licence students don't usually (but some like to). CPL students are expected to I think. It's good for having a professional mind-set which is very important in your future career.
Pacific Flight is a lot friendlier than Basair and at least as professional. You'll enjoy the atmosphere. Couldn't say the same about Basair. Plus at Pacific Flight you'll get much more personal service and attention.
what is the matter with basair because im planning on choosing basair for my cpl and other endorsments i would like the opinion of someone who knows the two schools! thanks
I'm sure Basair is competent. An Instructor who used to work at Basair told me they disliked working there because of the atmosphere. I wouldn't want to be trained by an unhappy instructor. Ring around a few of the other schools. Compare their trainig rates and what extras you have to pay for (they can add up). Go and visit them, talk to their instructors. Get a feel for the school and then choose. You can always change later if you don't like your first choice.
clap clap clap very good video and do pacific flight services wear uniforms because m enrolling with a flight school in a couple of months and i got a choice with bas air aviation collage or pacific and i want a good company so yeah is pacific flight good and do they wear uniforms by the way well done very nice video
What a FANTASTIC video - It actually feels like you are flying with him! What a smooth pilot - with guys like him in the air it makes me want to learn to fly -sign me up!!!
Almost... ;) Anyone watching needs to agree that the pilot in this film looks quite relaxed and at ease in command of this plane. One can only assume he is as confident in his students as he is in his own capabilites. A true professional!
@supaderp
thanks, that sounds great!

I think the editing confused me; I agree on re-viewing that it's not totally clear. Or naybe he has dual radios and is on both frequencies at once.

nice flight, good video. Im jealous of you getting to fly a piper warrior, im still on c150's lol. Good luck with it!
