Just adding to the convo: There's a lot of speculation as to whether Josh is coming back, and if you look at the most recent teaser video coheed put out, it seems as if josh is playing the piano theme.

I'd be happy if either of you came back because, no offense, but I didn't think Penny was a good fit for coheed.

Thanks sooo much man. I love this it inspires me so much. Dude delirium trigger has always been one of my favorites. Props to ya broba fett you're a badass. Mic Todd is my favorite musician and it really hurt when the shit hit the fan. Seeing these videos reminded me of different times and I thank you for that.

Did you guys practice a lot? Was Claudio one of those guys who would sit in his room and practice guitar for hours every day?

@FollowersofDamu Yeah. I practiced 6 hours a day on school days and 9 hours a day on weekends. Claudio and Mic did the same. We were all really hardcore about playing. Music was our lives.

@FollowersofDamu Ha! I actually sent Mic a message via facebook about that. I doubt that I'll hear back. I don't think that they'll be working with Josh again, either. And, no, we aren't in contact anymore. The last time I saw Claudio was in 2004 when he came out to check out a show that I was playing with a band called Divest. But, we didn't really do anything except make small talk.

@FollowersofDamu Yeah! BIG time! Both of those bands were huge influences on us, along with Hum, At The Drive-In and Sunny Day Real Estate. And I didn't have anything to do with the Coheed piano theme. Haha! I was long gone at that point. I actually think Mic put that together, if I'm not mistaken.

@TPFInferno No, these are the only ones that I've seen with me in them. It's funny you'd mention "Life w/o You" because that was the song that I got up and left on. And, yeah, "Godfather's" was a staple in our live set. That one got people PUMPED!

We played two sets that night. I got up and left the stage on the third song of the second set. We never played together again. It's great to see this vid, though. Even though the memory of being so frustrated that night comes reeling back into my psyche, I would have forgotten about the third song here, "Counteract," if it weren't for this video. Another fun trivia fact: None of the three guys with gits had tuning pedals, so as I can hear now, we were tuned sharp making tough vox even tougher.

@Saanc8 There were definitely times over the years that I wished I had stayed. But, I don't know if things would have turned out the same way if I had. Now, in lieu of the craziness with Mic and the fact that I'm married and starting my PhD in a few weeks, I'm REALLY glad that I'm not still out there with them. It was something that I wanted for myself ten years ago, but def not now. I'm psyched being right here where I am.

@NK2151978 nate,after you left you can hear a difference between beginning coheed and shabutie, but if you watch the third part of this show junesong was one of your guys songs, along with delerium trigger...how much of sstb did you write with everyone before you left?

@jitk1 I was a part of writing "Delirium Trigger," "33," and "Junesong Provision." The rest of the songs were written with Josh in the band. Actually, "Junesong" was the last tune we ever put together as a unit and was only written several weeks before I left.

@TPFInferno I stayed in sporadic touch with those guys for a few years, but none of us have spoken since about 2006 with the exception of a couple of e-mails between Mic and me and a long open letter I wrote, outlining and confronting past issues we had together. I never got a response from any of them to that letter. Honestly, I didn't even know that Josh had left or that they hired Chris. I joked that it would have been great to see dudes' faces as I walked in to audition, though,had I known.

@TPFInferno Yeah, I did the backup vox. I'm usually just credited as the drummer, but I did a lot of backups. I did the "power in my genitals" part, the backups on Shameless, including the deeper Che Chang screams during the bridge, and the choruses and bridge on Camouflage. On Godfather's, I did vox all over that, along with Claud, and I also do the backups on the chorus of 33. Disciple's Anthem, Strung Short, and Good Night have a lot of my vox on them, too.

@TPFInferno As for the lyrics, most of them weren't written until we were actually in the studio, recording. I had to be familiar with the melodies so I could do backups, but the lyrics were never finalized until we were actually putting the tunes to print. A few were done before that stage, like Strung Short and Counteract, but for the most part, Claud was pretty loose on lyrics until the end game. For that reason, it's kinda tough to say what the exact meanings of the songs are/were.
