Has anyone noticed when Airwolf fires out a rocket it takes out the plane in a nano second. When anyone else fires a rocket at airwolf it goes so slow so they can pop out sunburts, side arms, do left and right swerves to dodge it. Those ruskies need to buy some decent rockets.
Funny thing. The parachute sequence. Back when this came out, aircraft didn't have parachutes for mid-air deployment in the event of a possible crash-potential emergency. NOW? Those are getting to be nearly standard equipment on civil aviation aircraft and they WORK to reduce loss of life in the event of a major aircraft problem.

I think the sequences should've been slower instead of fast forward style. That helicopter is cool but the whole jet booster, parachute thing is kinda retarded. It was a cool sequence though.

if in years to come they designed better made rotary blades and among other things create the engine that turns the blades fast enough equal to the push of the jet engine, then what? i mean there getting there with the new Sikorsky X2

While there, Dom had a spat with his ex-wife, who ends up dead as well, and Dom is blamed for her murder. Good episode. Anyway, Season 4 was terrible. They didn't even have the helicopter. Had to use stock footage for all the Airwolf shots.

I wish Don would have had his way with this show, network usually just screw things up when they step in. Look at Quantum Leap and Magnum P.I. how great were they to warrant such a long run. I hated how things changed so much after season one, the dialogue especially got cheesy. Character interactions were not as interesting, plus there always seemed to be inconsistency between how String and Dom thought of Michael.

What do the rotors spinning up have to do with the turbos? The whole point of this scene is String using the turbos because it would take too long for for the rotors to spin up, whereas the turbos can take Airwolf to mach 1 in under ten seconds.
Goddamnit... why did you have to post this and ruin all of my childhood memories of this show being cool? lol... the stock footage, the poor editing of the missile strikes badly cut in with the explosions, someone tossing a cinderblock into a pond to make it look like a missile struck it, those stupid helmets, that cat-coughing-up-a-furball-while-someone-turns-on-the-garbage-disposal-sound that Airwolf makes, the 80s chick smiling in the friggin' cockpit, a "sunburst"... my memories are ruined.
Gentlemen, the premise of the Airwolf concept design was that the helicopter is able to disengage the rotor gearing and switch to gyroplane once the turbos are engaged. So naturally the thing is meant to fly under autorotation anyway. I'm just surprised the show's creators never heard of retreating blade stall.

Long long time ago I loved this show. It and knight rider were so muhc alike. Macgyver was another favorite. All three of those guys did impossible things with awesome tools.
if they should make a movie based on this they should keep up with the orginial idea "wolf in sheep clother" should look like ordinary helicopter but it isin't.With to today's standard i think they must make come with new weapon idea's.
Yep. There is NO comparison between the them....well at least in the first season when Bellisario still had an international, dark, and serious flavour to the show. Like Magnum PI, the show had both, rich characters, lighthearted moments, but still a dark, serious undercurrent at times. Knight Rider and A team were pure schtick all the way through....
Knight Rider (new one) blows! They picked the worst and wooden emotionless actor they could possibly find to play Michael's son (Mike). The car chases are horrible and have no suspense and absolutely no drama.

Although so many years have past this helicopter gives me the chills. Its simply the most awesome thing ever, the design of it and the sound is seriously truly epic.
If they did it though it would be guaranteed that they wouldn't use a bell 222 for airwolf. They'd probably go with something more modern that looked nothing like it, and that for most fans would make them not go see it.

Most amusing thing about airwolf is it seems to be the only aircraft with countermeasures (sunbursts). Just a pity the show ended how it did, having its budget slashed and a new cast with zero closure.
Airwolf was and is the best darn chopper ever even if its sci-fi! It even looks beautiful nuff said.And in my imo, this is the best dog fight in Airwolf's entire career, beside the bomb run.
80's Television action at it's best. Donald Bellisario did a good job with this show. I think the pilot episode is better than most of the bullshit thats on TV these days.

What do the rotors spinning up have to do with the turbos? The whole point of this scene is String using the turbos because it would take too long for for the rotors to spin up, whereas the turbos can take Airwolf to mach 1 in under ten seconds.

Goddamnit... why did you have to post this and ruin all of my childhood memories of this show being cool? lol... the stock footage, the poor editing of the missile strikes badly cut in with the explosions, someone tossing a cinderblock into a pond to make it look like a missile struck it, those stupid helmets, that cat-coughing-up-a-furball-while-someone-turns-on-the-garbage-disposal-sound that Airwolf makes, the 80s chick smiling in the friggin' cockpit, a "sunburst"... my memories are ruined.

I think you missed the PILOT,in which Marella said that 9.6 seconds after ignition Airwolf can reach MACH 1 plus.
So all this took place within that time specially when Dom cut the shoot away!

Gentlemen, the premise of the Airwolf concept design was that the helicopter is able to disengage the rotor gearing and switch to gyroplane once the turbos are engaged. So naturally the thing is meant to fly under autorotation anyway. I'm just surprised the show's creators never heard of retreating blade stall.

Long long time ago I loved this show. It and knight rider were so muhc alike. Macgyver was another favorite. All three of those guys did impossible things with awesome tools.

Yep. There is NO comparison between the them....well at least in the first season when Bellisario still had an international, dark, and serious flavour to the show. Like Magnum PI, the show had both, rich characters, lighthearted moments, but still a dark, serious undercurrent at times. Knight Rider and A team were pure schtick all the way through....

Knight Rider (new one) blows! They picked the worst and wooden emotionless actor they could possibly find to play Michael's son (Mike). The car chases are horrible and have no suspense and absolutely no drama.

Because the new Airwolf, just like the new Knight Rider, would probably suck. It's sad. They would have to have a really talented team to go beyond cliched action, shallow characters, and lameness.

If they did it though it would be guaranteed that they wouldn't use a bell 222 for airwolf. They'd probably go with something more modern that looked nothing like it, and that for most fans would make them not go see it.

i agree. i would love it if they brought back airwolf but knowing hollywood they would fuck it up by using a lot of CGI instead of filming it properly. Just like they fucked up indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull.

Most amusing thing about airwolf is it seems to be the only aircraft with countermeasures (sunbursts). Just a pity the show ended how it did, having its budget slashed and a new cast with zero closure.

80's Television action at it's best. Donald Bellisario did a good job with this show. I think the pilot episode is better than most of the bullshit thats on TV these days.
