  • are they brown strongs?

  • sounds rlly good!

  • would u recommend this or a hawaiian koa uke?

  • What is the song on @ 4:10? Always forget the name.

  • Quick adjustment? U rebuilt the F@cking thing!

  • Hey Matt,

    Good work.

I have the concert version (nice - Same gap in the bridge). It doesn't have the slotted head - However I want slots!

How did this compare with the Lanikai monkey or zebra that you played with the slotted head?

    Cheers,

    Claudio

PS - Don't be afraid to pronounce Aquila the Italian way rather than Spanish :D

  • great vids man

    just wanted to say that!

    XD

  • I bought one of these recently and I am very impressed. However, the action may also be slightly low for my taste. Do you happen to know if the neck is acacia? The wood of the neck doesn't seem to be specified, i'm just wondering whether it's laminate?

  • Thinking about getting this same uke! Thanks for the post. p.s. "faux" is pronounced "foe" like "bow".

  • Thanks for your review!!! I was looking for a new tenor Uke and your review helped :)

  • I just bought the SAME Uke.. I had a kala concert mahogany before.. they sound very similiar.. I may try some new strings.. Recommendations ?

  • yes, blue roses falling, i'll buy the same uke

  • yes, blue roses falling

  • What's the song at 3:28 ? I want to find the chords or tutorial on that one... thank you!

  • @kenmasters007 nvm, figured it out.. had to watch ALL your videos.. Blue Roses Falling - Jake S. :)

  • you go 'i'll play a little bit' then go drop some heavy shit, rated

  • "Faux" is pronounced "foe", not "fox." Mispronouncing it like that is a linguistic faux pas.

  • I just got one four days ago right out of the box with no shop set-up and I have the same problem with the C string buzzing through frets 1-3. I want to put Worth Clears with a low-g string, which is even thicker than the Aquila C string.

Once I get the shop to do the set-up (raise the action), this beautiful uke will be so sweet.

  • Hey Mate, I was about to buy a Ohana TK35 untill I heard your Kala. Wow that sounds like a 600 quid Uke! Thanks for that it's even cheaper than the Ohana.

  • one year ago haha!

  • Question. I also have the problem of buzzing on the C string but I love the ebony saddle. Is there a way I can fix this without replacing the saddle? I dont really feel like ordering a new one either. I was thinking about sanding down a toothpick and putting it beneath it.

  • finally. someone doing a sound test and not spending 10 mins just looking at the thing. you've practically made my decision as far as budget ukes go. thank you for this

  • I bought a KOA Kala tenor last year and it doesn't have near the volume your Acaia has.

  • HOW DO YOU PLAY THE UKE THAT AWESOMELEY haha YOUR AMAZING!

  • What is the name of the second song you play? Sounds like a Jake Shimabukuro song.

  • how could you not like aquila its the bomb

  • @slowdeezy08 they are, I love em on my Ohana SK-35G but different gauge strings have different qualitys and unfortunately they only do one gauge for the tenor. I didn't think the Aquila's complimented the sound of this Uke either.

  • i see you just diddnt like em on you kala

yeah i diddnt like la bella strings on my soprano kala but they sounded good on my makala tenor i guess its just preference

  • u got mad strumming skills :o

  • what are you playing from 4:12-4:18

I have this same uke arriving on Tuesday!

    great review and playing

  • Lets Dance by Jake Shimbukuro i believe

  • Comment removed

  • i believe it is maleguena, a popular spanish/classical guitar song, he plays a little portion

  • did it come with a hardcase

  • It came with the usual case that MGM includes.

  • I definitely appreciate the review... I'm looking for my first "real" uke and you pretty much had me sold the first time I saw the review. Problem is I didn't realize the KA-ASAC-T was meant to be a limited release, so I've been on an unreal easter egg hunt all over Cali...

Anyways, its not about the destination, its about the journey.

By the way, what song is the exerpt from @ 3:28?

  • That song is Blue Roses Falling by Jake Shimabukuro. Thanks for the comment!

  • @thejumpingflea jake shimabukuro has good music he had inspired me too play the ukulele.

  • what do you mean a limited release???

  • I apologize, I didn't update my comment sooner... at the time I wrote the comment I was misinformed by a sales rep or two that the KA-ASAC-T model wasn't going to be offered much longer. In hind-sight, I think they were trying to pressure me to purchase while the product was on backorder. I ended up getting a hold of one though... It's worth every penny

  • Ah I see. Well i'm planning to buy one in april and now i'm a little confused because musicguymic has none for sale right now.

    can't wait... 6 months from now! ):

  • @lendawgenzo I know it has been forever since you posted this, but did you ever get this Ukulele? If so, where did you get it? I'm looking all over for one and I can't find any results! This is my dream Uke right now.

  • @MrWally417 Hey Mr. Wally, sorry for the late response.Ya I did manage to get a hold of this uke about 3 weeks after my post. I was really apprehensive in investing in the KA-ASAC-T as I don't consider myself anymore than a novice player, but it made learning a pleasure, & it was worth every dollar. I'm in NorCal, and I found one at ABC Music in Benicia. If not in Cali, you may wanna lookup musicguymic on ebay. I met him at the Napa Valley Ukulele Festival, highly reputable and good prices.

  • @lendawgenzo Ah yes, I've talked to MGM. He is completely out of stock and doesn't know when the next shipment is going to be manufactured. I'm in Cali, but down near Los Angeles. Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait a little while :)

Thanks for the help, though! I'm glad to hear that it was worth the wait and the investment!

  • @MrWally417 check Georges music I just got one when i got mine they had two. Anyway good luck it is a really nice uke

  • Thanks for the review...You play very well...!!!

  • OMG...u are an amazing player!!! congrats...and thnx for the review!

  • Thanks for the review! I've been wondering about those new acacia Kalas.

  • I think a cardboard box with rubber bands would sound good the way you play.

Thanks for the review, nice choice.

  • that thing is a beauty. and it sounds great man.

how much did it run you? i might have missed that if you said it, sorry if i did.

  • Thanks for this great review! I want one, too now!! :-)

  • Oh, wow. My UAS is seriously hurtin' right now. Not to mention the Papa's Boxes cigar box uke I'm waiting for.

Anyway, great review, great instrument, great sound. May she serve you well.
