If that is muriatic acid and if it is fresh acid, that would have exploded in your face, melting your skin immediately. I know because I tested it on a dead squirrel. The ones I made explode 5-8 seconds after I capped it. Just don't shake it next time!

It is not Acid, it is sodium Hydroxide. It is known as the Hindenburg Reaction.

The NAOH reacts with the Aluminum to produce Sodium Aluminate and Hydrogen Gas.

Next Time throw it next to a bon fire for a great party favor. Just remember that is Hydrogen gas and could do some serious damage.

not to smart lol... These things can easily blow up in your face lol. When i was about 12, i had made hundreds of these, and i just got unlucky one day and the chemical reaction went really fast, I don't know if it was the grade of the alluminum produced or the acicidy of the liquid I had but it blew up in my face LOL. It didn't damage me or anything luckily, I got a small cut on my cheek tho =[
