  • I agree with Eyeofpanther user on this one my cats do it in bigger scale like in my video response

  • These obstacles are much to easy for a cat. I think the primary challenge here isn't testing the cats agility, but getting the cat to follow. I think the obstacles would need to be bigger to the point that not only the cat has to work, but the human also. I'm talking large scale.

  • I am a dog trainer and my Ragdoll thinks she is a dog, and she is obedience trained, if I say "tunnel" she goes into the tunnel. She has also done the Crate games.

  • That's not fair that they get a toy as a lure, that's not allowed in dog agility.

  • @kristen58

but in the dog agility they have food, don´t they?

  • @VieraBoNie Only in beginning training--treats and toys aren't allowed within 10 ft of the ring in competition, so you have to wean it out early on in training so they get used to it. They get a toy or treat after they're competely done and have left the ring.

  • I've trained my cat for agility and it is A LOT of work - they do enjoy chasing the toy but they sure as hell don't do it naturally!

  • I am curious - I was told that the CFA does not recognize the Bengal cat as a domesticated breed. They told me they were considered a "feral" cat and the CFA doesn't even allow them in the door at shows. Am I missing something?

  • @tribble44 - They're idiots. These cats are purebred, just like Siamese and others. The CFA is made up of snobs. At least the ICA recognizes this breed. I have papers from them (International Cat Association, Inc.)

  • I agree with nikigurl08, Turkish Vans enjoy swimming, I think cats are cool. It's not just dogs that do all the agility stuff, cats, mice and hamsters do it to, and they are all pretty good.

  • I think this would be much easier to compete in, if they used a pointer instead.

  • The video is frantic trying to keep up with the music, somewhat disturbing and definitely hard to watch. Try again.

  • This, a thousand times this.

  • i think the cats have no idea what they are meant to be doing

lol they are just enjoying chasing the toy

  • @kundle Thats not always true. Some cats learn the obstacles just as a dog would, but mostly yeah they just want the toy

  • @kundle

dogs have no idea too, they are just enjoying the food...

  • kool!

  • this is cool

  • cmariexx, don't be so negative. Sports like this for cats, inspires more exotic breeds, that could perform more tasks. And just because their not dogs does not mean they cannot do the same thing as them. With more wild cat blood cats could one day be used for hunting, racing, guarding, maybe even retrieving. Like today we have a breed of cat called a PixiBob that can be trained much like a dog. And some cats, actually enjoy swimming.

  • they don't enjoy...come on! watch a dog doing agility and then tell me..... -____-

  • I don't think the cats would do it if they didn't like it. Its not in the cat's nature to be selfless. LOL

  • yeah but do the cats anjoy it?

  • Excellent.
