By the way, I bought a really nice one with a see through lid from Debenhams for £12. Then a week later they had them on sale at ASDA (Wallmart) reduced from £6 to £4. I kid you not.
Love the video BUT what happen to the coffee grits? Do it stay in the bottom of the base? I'll be buying one this weekend.Thank you for making this video..It was very helpful
Also, viewers should understand that, no matter what roast or grind you use, this will not produce the typical Italian espresso received in most cafes around the world (with the light brown, foamy top). This is more like an extremely concentrated cup of traditional black coffee and does not have the hint-of-caramel-like sweetness of a perfect espresso shot pulled from a high-pressure espresso machine.
Good video with a quality end-product. Interestingly enough, my method is almost opposite to yours. I use a lighter roast because the coffee is going to be highly concentrated using this method, and I use a coarse grind so that the coffee doesn't clog up the basket and block the steam from coming up through. I get a pretty good end product my way, but I will give your way a shot and see how I like it.
wow thanks for these vids! I was trying to make espresso but i had no idea how to do it haha, turns out I was doing it all wrong and man do I feel dumb! thanks for the quick and easy help :)

Is it possible to make a espresso shot with this type of a pot ?
TinyPooji1989 7 months ago
@TinyPooji1989 Yes, if you use lots of coffee and not much water, you will get very strong coffee.
BabySmurfEater 6 months ago
@TinyPooji1989 sadly, no. you can get close, but the process doesn't put the coffee through enough pressure. either way, it makes very strong coffee.
