  • It sounds like my grandmother's snoring.

  • Stop hurting that cat man!

  • aww you can do it honey

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHA IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS SINGING XD

  • It sounds like it could use a hug.

  • poor little camera

  • oh man... its crying.. ebay..

  • Poor thing! Haha xD

  • like ork horn=D in middle-earth

  • lol how did you manage to get it to stop at the end? :P

  • @lilcak3 it just stopped. then i send it back. hahah

  • mine doesnt even make any sound when i hit the focus button..

  • Awwww! it's trying so hard!! bless!

  • @MrHavoc333 i know. but not hard enough, hahha!

  • DON'T LAUGH >:I SO SAD! :(

  • @16mmDJ tell me about it. but it was funny even for me. the sound was hysterical.

  • @SeattleBonVivant hehe, yeah, A tad pathetic...

  • wow! 300 buckss?? seriously dude! thats my friggin airfare! o.o not to mention the price for the films! sigh.. i can only stick with fuji instax..

  • If I paid 200 bucks for that I wouldn't be laughing. What did you refer to when you said "it" is coming back next year - the SX-70, or 600 film (by a private consortium of some sort, I believe).

  • This problem i had with my sx 70 camera to. ( first model ) but i make it work again by putting a fresh film in the camera. ( do this with a empty cardridge with a fresh battery ) than open and close the camera door so much times as you can. than maybe it will work again. as this is not working, try to push the shutter button so much times as you can. as this is not working, your camera is broken.

  • @mariahcareydaydream nothing to do with film which i have plenty of. it was a shutter problem. i returned it and go ta refund. no problem.

  • I think what happened is that you were trying to take a picture after midnight! If you take a picture during the day it will work fine.

  • No. What happened is the shutter was faulty. I tried the camera in all lights, different times of day.

  • sorry it was a joke because of the sound it made-it sounded like some strange creature from a halloween movie :)

I knew it wasn't a lighting issue coz that room looked pretty well lit to me.

  • Ha ha! Yes, it was an eerie sound. But at the same time, it was such a funny thing. You can tell by the video that we were just baffled and I was totally holding back laughs. I tried. Still, I could not help myself. It was funny. Thank goodness I got my money back. It would have been tragic otherwise. :)

  • Bum!

  • did u ttry new film?!

  • the problem was not the film. it was the shutter. i returned the camera to the seller, the seller refunded my payment, i purchased another camera. problem solved.

  • you paid 200$ for one of those? i just bought one from goodwill and it works fine i just need some film

  • yes. three years ago that's the average they were going for on eBay. $200-300, before Polaroid went out of business.

PS: It is coming back next year. Yay!

  • i just figured put that mine is worth 100-200$ i had no idea but im still gonna keep mine. also where did you hear that it was comin back? i havent heard anything about it

  • oh my god i would be mortified.

  • Tell me about it. It took three $200+ ebay purchases like this one to find a working one. Since then, I've purchased 4 others that were /are perfect. Alls well that ends well.

  • i got one and it was pretty screwy, i got a refund and spent a little too much on a 680 slr SE, which is very similar but has a built in flash and takes 600 film. i love it

  • LOLOLOLOL :(

i actually watched this video a while ago when i was looking for an instant camera

i purchased the fuji instax camera instead

  • Google the impossible project. They are making film again. Florian Kaps is my fckn hero.

  • no need. i know. in fact, i never gave up hope. marvelous, isn't it?

  • Definitely mate. I just bought an immaculate SX-70 Alpha 1 from an old lady via craigslist for $10. I'm amazed at what the SX-70 can do. What saddens me is that the 600 film I have in there is the last one I have (I promised not to open my last exp. 10/09 pack, but I had to) and never really had the chance to find out about the red ND filters you can use for them.

There's absolutely no way I'm paying $30 for a pack of 600 film. I'm just hoping the guys at I.P. don't do the same.

  • XD that's sad but hilarious

  • your camera is fuckin possesed

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!!

  • My cat heard this and was like "wtf"?

  • HOLY CRAP, ahahahaha. That's acually very laughable.

  • damn!

  • LMFAO! its queefing

  • isn't that chewbacca's son??

  • its like a little kid crying over a candy non stop lol

  • Gee, I sure hope mine doesn't do that.

But I'll have to wait 'till December (when they start making film again) to test it.

  • woawoawoawoawoa theyre making film again?!?!?!

  • itsss dying!!!!

  • Forget about the flash. I don't use flash in any of my cameras, not even Hasselblad. Listen, get film and shoot. Please. This are cameras to love and to use as often as possible. :)

  • The SX-70 doesn't use 600 film. That may be your problem.

  • Actually, it does. The camera does use 600, modified. Ask any SX-70 owner worth their 2 cents.

The problem was not the film, but the camera. The shutter. The camera was returned. Money refunded. No problem.

  • I made the post without reading the entire description - originally unaware that you had modified the camera to accept the 600 pack.

  • No worries. Actually this requires no camera modification. It's a matter of using a bit of hard card stock (like the black card the comes out of the 600 packages) to insert cartridge, thus modifying the film.

Other people shave off the four nubs on bottom of 600 so it fits the SX-70 film compartment. Easy peasy. :)

  • Had really old SX-70 S/N 000067 was originally a store display - didn't even have the pins for the neck strap. Got stolen out of my car. Have Spectra and Minolta version (with glass lens - much sharper images). Father-in-law gave me his dad's Black SX-70 Sonar works, but electronic flash won't fire - must use flash bar.

Use the Slide copier with peel film for water color xfers - cool.

also have 35mm instant processor - used it for dive trips - proofing/exposure tests. Then dove E6 film.

  • I know what will fix the camera-shake it like a polaroid picture!

  • oh, that sound makes me wanna cry

  • KILLLLLLL MEEEEEEEEEEE!!

  • oh that is such a tragic sound..

  • It sounds like somethins dying!!!!!

  • eheheh funny :D sorry about you :P

  • it goes weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

  • swell

  • See, had that of been my camera chances are it would splattered against the wall by now, lol. Shish! So did you manage to get it repaired or did you have to get the whole thing replaced?

  • The seller refunded the purchase price. I eventually found a lovely couple beautiful and in perfect working condition SX-70s that I have and use to this day.

But yes, absolutely, I had to go through a few duds before I found a couple nice ones. It was very frustrating indeed. :)

  • Well at least it all turned out for the best in the end ^..^! I have an old pollaroid somewhere...They're actually starting to become hard and harder to find with digital cameras taking over like a wild storm these days.

  • Owie...that's not good. Did you snap the pins off the side of the pack? Such is standard procedure if you wish to use 600 film on an SX-70 (discontinuing those packs was the stupidest thing Polaroid ever has and ever will do).

  • The problem was the camera not the film. But yes, the 600 cartridge was modified to be used with the SX-70 (all four nubs on bottom were removed with a pairing knife). :)

  • Poor little SX-70! What did you do with it?

  • I wrote to the seller and explained my predicament. He took it back and refunded payment (almost $200) which was wonderful and quite decent of him. :)

  • that sounds disgusting! I love it! I should record my latest SX-70 e-bay purchase as it can mace a nice duo with this one :-)

  • sounds like a synthesiser :D

  • Poor Cat!!!

  • I think she really wanted to be a singer in a former life.

  • LOL!!!

  • my god that sounds terrible...

  • oh dear

  • I collect Polaroid cameras myself. It's a shame that they don't make Time-Zero film anymore, but with most everyone using either digital cameras or disposable ones I guess it's inevitable. Luckily Polaroid still makes several kinds of pack film!

  • onevisionofmay: Actually while the SX-70 or Time Zero Polaroid films are no longer made, 600 film is used everyday by SX-70 owners like me on these cameras. I own at least three SX-70s and I shoot with them on a weekly basis using modified 600 film.

The problem with this particular camera (the one on the video) was the camera, not the film used in it. :)

  • You need SX-70 film... which they DON'T make anymore.

  • Hey nibbler: The camera came in the mail and this test was done the day of. It arrived like that which is the reason why I returned it. Not worth the $200+ I paid for.

  • rest in peace.....

  • i think you toasted one of the gears

  • poor pola

  • haha, this is so funny, i think the cogwheel misses some teeth, that's why it keeps missing it's goal, the small pin on wich it should press to open the polaroid chamber to release the polaroid itself. a wild guess.

  • I collect Polaroid Cameras and I can say that camera is messed up. I have been burnt on Ebay Before with an EE100 Special with bad bellows and an SX70 with a broken Brightness Wheel. I just buy them locally now so I can inspect them.

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • LOL :D wow that sucks

  • Oh my goodness. Your pola has Verstopfung! Torture! :)
