This is something that a lot of people say but it's very true. Nobody and I mean NOBODY in any capacity could play Valentino. It can't be done. He has a magic quality that is seldom seen in people and so many actors nowadays have the looks, but not the substance. Valentino (I hate when people call him Rudy) was one of those incredibly rare creatures only seen in the bluest of blue moons and can't be close to imitated by any of the substandard actors floating around these days. Even Johnny Depp.
@kangadillo: If there was any way Rudy could know about your "Work of Art" series of videos, I think he would be touched. Given that he loved fine art and music, he would have loved them!

Yes have seen all three of your Work of Art vids - loved them - he does have the most beautiful face I ever saw too. I am constantly looking at photos of him online (just a little obsessed!) and often finding ones I haven't seen before - is he the most photographed man ever!
@Lovingsundays I have almost 1,000 pictures of him that I downloaded. Sometimes I treat myself to a Rudy-show, using the slide show tool. Of course I watch his movies, but sometimes when his face looks especially wonderful, the camera cuts away to show the titles, or some other actor, and it always seems to happen too soon. I always think, "Wait! Hold that pose! Let me look at you!"
@Lovingsundays I was watching "Sleepy Hollow" on TV, starring Johnny Depp, and I think Depp could play Rudy, if anyone decided to do a biopic. Depp's the only actor I can think of with enough beauty and charisma and sweetness (although not as much as Rudy) to do it. The 1977 film by Ken Russell starring Rudolf Nureyev was horrible and an insult to Rudy. Someone should make another one and this time do a better job.

The reviews always said the same thing - "good actor, handsome, but lacks Valentino's charisma." In other words, his soul, which can't be imitated.

Apparently he always thought he was from Roman descent although his family didn't come from that part of Italy and his mother was French. I also did Google image searches for male mythological figures, like Apollo, Ares, etc. I had to search for classical fantasy figures because there was no point in looking up famous historical figures, because none of them were anywhere as handsome as Rudy! The only "real" one I used was the painting of the young prince, because his eyes were similar to Rudy's.

Your really did a great job capturing rudy's various looks and poses compaired to these pieces of art. He was indeed a work of art and u captured that so well!!! Thank you for your kind words. I read that Rudy's mother spoiled him because he was so beautiful. Sounds like Rudy's mom was his first fan!
Maybe the doting by all the women in his family was the reason he retained such reverence and respect for women when he grew up.
