I agree, the cultural traning of personell needs to be changed. First of all, the force should arrive at theatre at the same apparent footing as the possible enemy. They should adopt non uniform dress. Insignia should be minamal and covered accept when direct action rules are applied. The greater forces need 'eyes and ears' reports. Special Forces would do this job better if they went more cat footed into things. The method applied here didn't result well.

There entry tactics do look a little rusty...it looks like they have done it so many times that they aren't putting max effort into every breach but after a few hundred that happens...the officer in charge should be keeping these guys tighter. But i know a lot of Army/Marines and they know their shit. For example, a group of police got in a firefight with an ex marine turned gang member and it was bad. they do work

With this said, obviously, being a Sunni city and Saddam supporters they naturally hate us no matter what! Our demeanor is reflective to our job, take charge and eliminate the threat. We have learned from our mistake, but take into consideration that the war is largely Saddam's fault. Just research into the history of a country run by a mad man. He invaded Iran, murdered fellow Iraqis in the tens if not hundreds of thousands, invaded Kuwait, challenged international treaties. Don't let your emotions take your better judgement man. But he invaded Iran while being armed and supported by the U.S. He used gas illegally against the Iranians which nobody cared about, because that war was supported by the west. Every country does make mistakes, there is no doubting that. But when a mistake leaves a whole country in ruins, it's not something that can be easily forgiven.

Saddam killed tens of thousands in his 30 years, but the U.S has done the same in 7 years.

You know, I have learned living life that some people will only see what they want to see. Yes, the U.S. kinda helped Iraq, like the U.S.S.R. helped Iran. No, Saddam is responsible for millions of deaths. Read your history before indulging in persuasive arguments. In order to persuade someone, you have to introduce facts, statistics, and importantly references. Finally, in defense of my country, lets stop using the U.S as a scape goat for the worlds indifference and blame ourselves!

Further to add, try to have some reflection. Why is it that the U.S. used Iraq and not the other way around. Iraq used America for its great weapons and Iran used the U.S.S.R. for its great weapons. Bottom line - we all use each other, that is not an American thing, its a human thing!

Of course he was a brutal dictator. Vicious in his ways of revenge and governance, but that war was not started on the basis of removing him, remember ? It was for weapons that were never found. Up till a week before the war began the Bush administration said that Saddam could remain in power if he got rid of his "weapons of mass destruction" It's only when the US decided to demonise a dictator that people think they should be removed.

You probably don't remember but Saddam claimed he had nuclear weapons just before the war. Over-zealously the U.S. jumped with this statement to justify war among other intelligence reports. It was revealed when he was interviewed after he was apprehended by coalition forces that he claimed to have nuclear weapons because he wanted to keep Iran at bay. He clearly underestimated the severity of the situation. More interestingly, look into Iran's role of providing evidence of Saddam's program.

@trollfinger You know, I was in this movie. I was there and all I saw was Iraqis killing each other. This is not the doing of the U.S. For every 100 Iraqis killed, maybe 5 were by coalition forces. There is so much murder going on over there. The way I see things, Iraq was the gasoline and unfortunately we are the match.

joaofga123 Iraq is stable enough for the moment, that there really isn't much more the American forces can tribute to making Iraq more stable. The Iraqi forces are plenty and are protecting most cities by themselves. What America needs to do now is aid Pakistan against the resistance fighting and to eliminate as much of the taliban controlled areas in Afghanistan as possible. The insurgents are focusing most attention on Afghanistan. If we loose Afghanistan, we also loose both Iraq and Pakistan.
