I read somewhere that Connie had a very sad, unhappy childhood due to abuse, but thank God she had the stamina to overcome her circumstances and become one of country's greatest singers. Bless her soul!
Thanks for postin. When i was and i went on truck with my mom and dad my mom listened to a Connie Smith cassette all the time. Thanks. Keep postin great vids. :)
i really like this by connie but i still beleive the VERY VERY BEST was done by none other than the GREAT JACK GREENE.Bill Anderson also did it but my opinion was he shouldn.t have wasted his time.
I remember them playing this over and over again on KVET in Austin several years ago. Great song and interesting town on that River--home to Kroger, Proctor & Gamble, the Reds, WKRP, etc.
Connie Smith must be living right. I mean look at this woman. She's even more beautiful now than she was back then! Daaaang, that gal is downright perty!
Cincinnati Ohio home of the biggest Octoberfest in these here United States and some of the greatest German/American people too. Und don't ferget ze beeeeer!
@Tioman88 Heh. Cincinnati *is* a bit bland isn't it, being surrounded by action but receiving none for itself. Still, loads of people live here. OH! We do have King's Island nearby. A-and Cincinnati Zoo. That's um... two things, so far... not really, uh, stuff that would lure in visitors though... ._. We don't even get an accent like everyone else. You guys are so lucky, with your fancy accents and your... -chokes up- tourists! In all seriousness though, I do like living here

Connie is my all time favorite female country singer. I'm interested in the father of her children. His name and if he's still living..

Cincinnati's downtown skyline was used for decades as the opening title scene for The Edge of Night as it was sponsored by Proctor & Gamble.

If she had died in a plane crash, she would have been one of the greatest singers who ever lived.

I don't like this performance as much as one I heard by a group many years ago- certain melodic differences, less beat and slower.
