  • Actually the supercharger is a Paxton not a vortech supercharger. I don't understand why that one is a Vortech all the others I have seen have a Paxton

  • Actually the supercharger is a Paxton not a vortech supercharger

  • I just want the rabbit emblem hahaha it's kickass!

  • Texas. Youre in Ford Country now

  • MORE BOOST!!! :D

  • 375hp with just 6 pounds of boost? wow

  • @lightlearner I know holy crap stock they make about 210hp and only 6 lbs of boost, wow.

  • i have a v6... and i want the performance of the terlingua, ill take the body kit too but i dont want a freakin jack rabbit on my hood

  • dude the Auto trans is heavier than the manual BTW so idk what they mean by lighter... if it is its not by much..

  • Thanks for posting this, very nice.

  • i love mustang ass's

  • and........ you get the extra gages on the dashboard

  • I seriously hope Shelby is going to do something like this to the 2011 and up all aluminum V6

  • Throw in an independent rear suspension and I'd be sold.......

  • I would really like to know the 0-60 time and also the 1/4 mile time if you could let me know! Thanks!

  • murder fools!! lool

  • wow that much from only 6 punds! more boost!!!

  • I so need to save up. Rumor has it that the 2014 Mustang will feature a independent rear end. If Shelby still offers these packages at that time I am getting the stage two version.

"Most fun way to take the muscle out of a muscle car." Great way to put it Matt. XD

  • The point isn't that a cast iron V6 is lighter than an aluminum V8 but that the six is one cylinder bay shorter than the eight, which shifts a good mount of the weight behind the front spindles. Besides the 2011 V6 is a 3.7 liter aluminum block and only shaved forty pounds off of the out going cast steel 4.0 liter V6. A V8 is heavier and that is shown in the conversion from steel to aluminum, where the V8 lost 102 pounds. Compare that to the forty pounds the V6 lost.

  • i wonder how big a role this played in the fords decision to make the 5.0

  • OMG @ 6:07 u guys are just gonna sit there and let those mexicans cross the boarder!!! SMH

  • I'm pretty sure that the normal gt is just as fast if not faster and cheaper since its not a shelby

  • yea the 3.5 man all the way thats what i was gonna say i like the vortech but the turbo is gonna be way better in this car

  • they should totally use the 3.5 twin turbo v6 ecoboost engine

    for the next terlingua mustang

  • It has a paxton not a vortech. I saw one at a car show.............it was definitely a paxton.

  • they say in the video and the magazines ive read its a vortech lol

  • ADD the VORTECH.... you didn't watched till the end of the video. VORTECH is to be added.

  • vortech was added you tard, no way he tested one without it.

  • I missed to put the quotes. But are you on drugs or something? do you call everyone "a tard" if you have issues?

  • no, it was just my insult of the day

  • That guy doesn't even know the type of supercharger the car has.The Terlingua runs on a paxton supercharger not a vortech

  • The Terlingua is pretty sweet for a V-6. The only problem is, it is pretty much maxed-out. That is, if you buy a GT you can safely mod it into the 400hp range. If you buy a used 03 or 04 Cobra (which you could get for way less that the Terlingua) you can easily mod it to well over 500hp. With the Terlingua, you can't push the V-6 any harder without worrying about blowing the engine. The issue here is that most of us want more after while; and with the Terlingua, you can't really get more.

  • the v6 stock block can be modded clean to 500 hp, the v8 over 800 hp on the stock block, you can always buy a more powerful supercharger for anycar

  • If that's the same block that goes in the standard V6 or GT's standard V8 - You cannot push the engines that high. I have (and have had) Mustangs, modified them, etc. They are modular engines without forged internals. Think about it, the Saleen Extreme and Roush P51 have rebuilt engines just for that reason. And their just over 500hp. The Cobra and GT500 come stock with forged engines. So do many imports. The Terlingua is maxed - sorry to say.

  • the stock block on the V6 can handle up to around 450 on the engine while the v8 can do about 560-600, sorry my numbers were off, but anything over 75% power increase would require built blocks or forged internals, just so you dont rip apart the engine, again my bad for my incorrect statement earlier, thanks for not being a douche about too, not many ppl like that on youtube these days

  • Thats True. Plus Idk About The Vortex Sc Because I Love The Whine On The Kennebell. But Other Then That You Can't Go Futher With The Car But Still A Great One.

  • Hey, if a Civic can be tuned to 1000 HP, I'm sure the V6 in the Terlingua can make it to 500.

  • the civics arent "tuned" to that much, they have completely custom built blocks with enough forced induction to make a jet cry

  • @ADD8oi what are you talking about? All the ricers you see on the streets like the civics do not have "custom blocks" They run stock motors with fart cans on the back to make them sound fast when I could probably pee faster than them.

  • @thing503 naw im saying to make the power these rice burners claim, you would need a built engine, track cars and ricers are 2 very different cars

  • @ADD8oi yeah I see what you're saying, completely different.

  • but mustang fans want an engine that won't blow up after a few thousand miles

  • go bunny go

  • >:F

  • the terlingua is awesome! everybody says "oh its not a v8 boo hoo" but the man said its built for the track, only the track hes talking about is road courses not dragstrips. for that you want lighter weight, though its not a whole lot it helps, for better handling and acceleration and the supercharger helps with the speed and torque for exiting the turns and on the straights. this is a pretty affordable weekend warrior track car not your gt with flowmasters, a CAI, and a short throw shifter

  • yea me 2 i just luv 8s but u do have 2 admit that the terlingua stang does look bad ass but it just doesnt have the bad ass sound or the bad ass power it doesnt work for me

  • its cool loookin and all but i would never own 1 and the reason is because it has a 6 i just love the v8 sound if i did get 1 of these id probably just drop a supercharged v8 in it

  • lol same.. i love V8s... thats the point of the mustang...to have the muscle.. its got no power... 376HP?? NONSENSE i would have a 720HP super snake any day

  • Can answer you first question- you get a Roush Mustang.

  • that was the most redundant think i have ever heard.. read SEMA articles before you start running your mouth about everything.. they use the V6 becasue it CHEAPER and gives the younger generation more for their money. it is a muscle, it always will be a muscle, so dont doubt it

  • Shut up. Idiot. Learn English. DUR DUR DUR WAS A SUCH THING NOT CHEAPER. STUPID GUYS CAMEROEXPECTING!! NUH

  • Ohh wow dumbass , have you ever heard of mistake. As for you i bet your one of those dumbasses driving a Camero v6 wishing it were a v8 grow the fuck up and learn about american muscle . Just because you eat Spinach doesn't mean your Popeye fuck boy! Wow you can throw a weak ass insult o.the inter shows your intelect or lack there of. So get get the fuck out of here and go Ram Anus x. Better yet go fuck a v6 tail pipe, Dur Dur Dur that. Wow any spelling errors there for you to use Fagot? STFU!

  • No there weren't any spelling errors but you put a space before and after a comma. Not good grammar. Then there's that random "o" after "weak ass insult". I drive a 97 Thunderbird with a V8 by the way.

  • Shit! the fucking drag car im building is a 97 Thunderbird V8. Fuck it I withdraw my previous insults and let the shit die! Fuck it it's beer time! I'm out!

  • Lol I was just playin with you anyway dude. Peace

  • It's all good man i'm just passionate about cars and hate internet arguments! I have enough to worry about like going Turbo, Supercharger, or all motor with Nos on my Drag car. Ohh well Have a few beers give a girl a few pearl tears and enjoy, ya Holiday!

  • Pussies always jump in fron of trains to get Fuck ! Stay out of other peoples business, or at least bring some KY for the fucking that you'll get from doing stupid shit. The argument was over I commented he commented and let it die but .... Fuck it your not worth a fucking key stoke, you'll never meet me and i'll never see you so fuck the little weakass insults and go about our seperate ways. But I bet you just have to have the last word! i wash my hands of stupid childish shit !

  • Key stoke lol your fucking retarded.

  • Why buy somthing used.... you can get a

v6 brand new cheaper than any GT... and wow a lack of two cylinders...

a Base model v6 - with adding 10 grand can also get you a built 4.3L stroker plus a TwinTurbo kit.......... that is capable of putting you into the 9secs quater mile plus still gets better gas miles and is better on handling............... wow you lack alittle ballsy sound...

  • he forgot to mention the suspension mod's you get for 18k

  • 275 lbs? WOW!!! gtfoh

  • its seems the car is missing something...(hear the sound of its engine with this video when Matt accelerated)

yo..soultronx...V6 can beat V8...50-50... depends who drive it...

  • They should've made that V-6 from aluminum as well. Get rid of the back seats and other crap and you can cut some serious weight from that car.

  • yea i would love to see a new cobra R come out of this new stang body style

  • m3 equal?

  • love the sound of the gt500

  • I am sure they are great cars, but I just would not trust Shelby. He should have gotten some prison time for trying to defraud those people back in the 90's.

Claiming he could build new 427 Cobra cars from some original frames he had in storage since the 60's. No modern emission standards to meet.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd still take my GT I think.

  • @xJTF2x anyday haha

  • Just make sure if ya come back down try to keep the drivers from flipping their car in the Big Bend Nat Park......

  • Shelby is starting to make European cars. LOL dont like the muscle anymore ??

  • Does anyone know how to contact Shelby Terlingua to convert the car? Looked around on the net but can't find anything :(

  • Go to the Team shelby website

  • Contact Glen at Quantum Performance.

    1-972-620-4440

    Their are two packages.

    Base Package $9,999

    and

    Performance Package $19,999

They are located in Farmers Branch, Texas.

  • Nice car. I love that it is a V6 and can still put a hurt on most V8s out there.

One thing that I would like to point out, the host keeps on referring to nose heavy this, iron that.... the 4.0L in the SIXER is cast iron while the standard v8 is aluminum. That's the same v8 in the shelby GT... you know. The nose heavy one.

  • Right. And the iron 6 weighs less than the Aluminum 8

  • @Garage419 imagine what a aluminum sixer can do

  • @Garage419 whats with the short shifts man

  • @baran311 a sixer is a pony car and that is a good thing take a look at the japanese mucle car (nissan gtr) thats a sixer

  • Could've had a V8.

  • dude the reason why they put the v6 was just to let ppl know that a race ready v6 can beat a v8

  • and a race ready v8 will beat a v6.

  • Depends on the race. A drag race in some cases, yes.

Road racing is built for drivers and how they can handle their cars, how they handle the course, as well as the competition.

  • more expensive though

  • What about a race ready V6 ?

    dur.

  • good idea shelby

  • why are so many people putting one mustang vs another. who cares if one mustang is made to handle, while others are for straight line speed. i think its a good idea, because it takes away the comeback that all those ricers come up with "at least my car can turn"

now we have multiple mustangs that will take them in straight lines, as well as some mustangs that will out handle them, including the roushes and saleens with irs and v8s.

and btw, the handling of a mustang gt is really underrated.

  • So has everyone forgotten about the Roush 427R track pack, or the Saleen S281 Extreem? No V6 Mustang is gonna keep up with those. And if your worried about wait ratio the Roush and Saleen Extreem have independent rear suspintion...

  • but how much does Roush or the saleen cost? this car is bang for the buck...or at least thats what i understand

  • Bang for buck Supercharge a stock one urself and have same preformance =p

  • Not true sorry Ive seen modified 4.0 mustangs eat a 427R alive in a straight Its called powerhouse cams with turbo =] and a little shot of nos goes from a low 14 to 10-11 sec car

  • I'm not a big expert of cars but I think for that much money you could take your car to a good garage and add +400hp (maybe with a turbo charger), I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper plus you can get a good body kit like Cervini's plus many other things I bet you'd save even money and have better performance and handling. Somebody corrects me if I'm saying something stupid...

  • your right. the only thing that would draw people to this particular option, though, is that Shelby badge. Its all about bragging rights, exclusivity and the history behind the badge.

  • youre exactly right, you could easily hit over 400 hp and improve handling on a v6 for far less than an extra 18k. and i personally hate the way they did the hood, so you can make it look a lot better than this car. but like currahee03 said, having a shelby badge on your car is something to brag about.

  • Handling, just thing handling, better handling through weight -or lack thereof- distribution.

  • the oly reason why its called a muscle car is because chuck norris drove them

  • jsizzle2k6 american cars never have power haha thats funny they do make power lots of power yes american v6 suck on power but v8 make up for it you got to mod your v6 alot just to make 500hp with a cobra engine you can make up to 1000hp with out major mods you dont need to replace the bottom ends and about fuel economy a full modded evo does not give you great fuel economy its also a gas gussler

  • The mustang for most guys is what it is. Could u imagine shooting the breeze with the boyz on a saturday night about your terlingua v6 with a big yellow bunny rabbit on it that pumps out a whole 375 hp in this day and age while buddy with his 750hp gt is trying not to laugh standing beside you. Taking the so called muscle out of the mustang and trying to make it a sports car out of it doesnt work for me. Doing that u are taking the cool factor out of the car period.

  • Now take that 750hp stang to an actually track, not a 1/4, not a stop light run, not a top speed run, but an ACTUAL race track. We'll see who's laughing when that 6 leaves that 750hp pig at the start line. The mustangs when they were conceived were never about big power, they're pony cars, sports cars etc, you didn't see a mustang at a drag strip all too often, you seen em on the circuit racing camero's and challengers. What shelby has done with that car is a great idea.

  • first time this guy uses a clutch... funny to see his face when he downshift for 1 sec then passes the 4th and still try to make the tires spin... idiot

  • a super charged v6 making 375 hp? thats kind of a joke for a forced induction car in the millienium the new hyundai genesis makes the same hp and hyundai sucks !! but then again american cars never have power haha. but i guess for a track car its good. i would just like to see hp atleast in the 400 range

  • hyundai sucks, it will never be what ford has become. did every one forget. ford invented the automobile.

  • lmao.. yeah i know hyundai sucks. i would never own one. im sayin a freakin pos hyundai makes more hp then a ford. a v6 boosted that only makes that much power is a joke. thats all im sayin.

  • he needs to work on his steering

  • Why did it take so long to pass that big rig?

  • that was actually not matt driving, someone else was trying the car and we used the shot

  • your smokin dope

  • naked! j

  • That nice shelby Racing car, One day Shelby Terlingua Mustang turn out be Racing supercars.

  • how does it stack up against the super snake.

  • Personally, for 35k, I would rather get a GT and supercharge it. You can do that much cheaper than it would cost to get this car and still have a ton more power. Its definately a nice car but for the price it doesnt seem worth it.

  • You just totally missed thw WHOLE point of this review. Its not about having more power, its about better braking, and better handling. Off the line yes a supercharged GT will accelerate faster, but I would like to see that nose-heavy supercharged GT keep up with Terlingua around a track.

  • Just add the same suspension mods to the GT. It's not rocket science.

  • Adding suspension mods will not fix the problem. Will it give the GT better handling? Yes it will, but will it fix the weight distribution? No. Which is the WHOLE point of this video, weight distribution, better handling, and braking. Essentially a track car.

  • The GT's weight distribution isn't bad to begin with. Just go with a 11 psi whipple kit and suspension/chassis mods on the GT. 500+ hp and better handling.

  • Well I dunno, I've never driven one of the newer GT's so I dont really know how it handles, but I guess I'll take your word for it.

  • dont do that... you're totally right with what you said. nothing fusion said will improve weight Distribution. the point of the v6 is to lighten the nose. the gt still has that heavy ass engine up front.

  • wow this guy is talking about something the japanese supercars did in the 1990's...

    example..

    Gtr,3000gt,skyline,supra v6 with turbo ....?

  • supra has a straight 6 bro

  • inline*

  • shut the fuck up straight and inline mean the same thing if you knew your ass from a hole in the ground you would know that.

  • i was correcting my self sorry.. for u having a spaz attack on me i guess

  • does getting the boost bug void the worenty?

  • very cool. Deep down I still think Id feel a bit dissapointed if I had the V6, even if it is blown.

  • Handling matters more but depends what roads you drive on I guess

  • That's very true, it's cool that you can give the v6 version some power, but having V8 is so much cooler!

  • there is no better way for this to be put.

  • Is this car episode like 3 parts or basically counted as 3 episodes all of which are a continuation? I was hoping to see new videos on something different again lol

  • new stuff coming later today, and if you can't wait, i'm hosting part 2 of Fast Lane Daily all week about the Audi Q7 TDI

  • heh i can wait, i just use this show to absorb my time for college breaks. I stopped watching Fast Lane daily for your show but sure, ill check it out and probably subscribe to it again.

    IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN! lol

  • really sounds awesome this car really makes me want to consider buying a v6 mustang and vorteching it.

  • Love the color schemes too! Cool car all 'round!

  • innovative!; very cool cool direction Shelby's taking the Mustang. I certainly hope its successful. Reminds me when Noble took over designing the TVR's; removing two cylinders and wisening the chasis, and they've seen better margins for sure. Great review as usual.

  • Return of the SVO? I see where their going..

  • Matt, any technical data on the car yet?

  • lots, what do you want to know? i have to look around for it, but performance numbers and full option lists have been posted in the comments section of this video on the main Garage 419 site.

  • theres no replacement for displacement

  • I'll Take one please!!!

  • secretary's car on steroids, i still would like my 2009 gt 500 kr super snake, accept with a 428 super cobra jet engine, with a super charger.

  • I like your video that was awesome show new shelby like racing modification it hot. You add as a friend peace.

  • what about the internals of the 4liter? can it withstand the supercharger?

  • yes, no problem. only 6lbs of boost, so it's all good. if you want to run a ton of boost, they sell forged internal kits.

  • ahaha! 6lbs does sound lame!........of crap didn't the 5.0 only have 225hp??? I'm thinking if 375hp@6lbs, 450hp with double the boost, cam, maybe port work, it'll be possible? Is the mentioned 375hp crank or rwhp?????

  • well 6 lbs of boost adds almost 70% more power, so even though it sounds lame, that's a significant number. with forged internals, you could take the power well over 400, but keep in mind, unlike turbos, superchargers do have a max boost capability bell curve to look out for.

  • wait wait wait its only 300 pounds lighter then a stock gt? so i can keep my v8 put aluminum heads on it and have the same power to weight ratio? thanks ill keep the 8. not to mention a stock gt is 25k brand new so he was mistaken.

  • the sticker on the glass roof GT i drove to texas was $32,500, and aluminum heads won't save even close to 300 lbs in the nose of the car.

  • so they do nothing to the handeling and brakes on that car?

  • why don't you listen to what the guy say.

  • If you have any stock GT with a 4.6 you already have aluminum heads so your not saving any weight there. And I have never lifted a 150 pound head on a car yet. I like my 4.6 however you are not going to get a gt as light in the nose as this thing.

  • yes...but shelby provides a Paxton supercharger kit for the base 4.0L...there you can make one badass sleeper...thats what Im doin.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • i can get the car without all those fancy graphic? i really don't like the hood....

  • you can get the hood in black or yellow. perfer the black myself on a silver car

  • That's sick. I would love to have a terlingua. I am not really a fan of drag racig, after you do it in the same car it gets really monotonous, I am a fan of bending the corners and this things looks like it would be crazy fun. And at 3300lbs, you can go STi, EVO hunting, in a damn Mustang...What the hell am I saying?

  • are you saying at 6lbs of boost that the V6 is till the same stock mustang V6 or is it entirely a Nu V6 with a supercharger?? cause i would really consider twin turbo charger V6 like my SUPRA (MORE BOOST!!) im going single Turbo this summer!dont get me wrong here! i like the idea! i would check to see if you can do all these upgrades UNDER $18G on your own if your mechanically savvy!! and going 20's is over kill 19's x 10'sin the rear 18's x 9's in front and lower the car stiffen suspension!

  • You dont turbo charge mustangs. V6 or V8 you just don't do it. Always supercharged.

  • theres a ton of turbo stangs mostly 5.0's but ur right supercharged is much better in a stang.

  • yeah there are alot. But arent 5.0s 4 cylinder? it doesnt matter if you turbo a 4 cylinder. It sounds the same anyway. But muscle cars like mustangs and camaros are made to blow, not suck (i dont mean it in taht way) hence muscle cars have blowers. Using a turbo they suck in air to add to the engines combustion.

  • no the 5.0 is a V8, 302 cubic inches, used from 1979 to 1995 in the Mustang LX Sports and GT's.

  • thx. TURBOING MUSTANGS IS STILL WORNG!! IT BREAKS MUSCLE CAR CODE!!!!!

  • point made! the reason i said to turbo charge is cause i like top end boost rather than low end boost!! T-charge just keeps giving where S-charger gets to a limit and then its out of breath and as for saggering the tires ...that would deturman the size tires you would use to bl

  • to ballance the car!! if that makes any sents? lol

  • 100% stock bottom end. If you are mechanically savvy you probably could save some money by doing it on your own, but like i said before, if you do it yourself you don't get a warranty or a shelby vin #, so you have no resale value either. And the 20's are nice, you don't go staggered setup on a Mustang unless you're running drag with it, which is not what the Terlingua is meant to do.

  • totally cool!

  • Matt, do you think that any of the big american auto companys will go under in this big crissis or do you think they will come out ok? fords stock closed at a $1.99 a share today and GM's at $4.89. will the volt and and the new camaro be enough to get GM really going again?

  • can you say government bailout? and no, it isn't.

  • Well this is exactly what Ford is going to do with the next generation Mustang. a turbo v6. Matt, do you think its gonna work out and sell?

  • if it's half as fun as the Terlingua, and customers get their heads out of their asses and realize that a V8 is not the only way to make power, then yes.

  • the only reason I wouldn't get it would be cause of the graphics. You gotta go modest with a V6, even if its got a supercharger

  • it sounds real good and all but for the love of god, why that gay-ass paint scheme?

  • it's the colors that Shelby's original Terlingua Racing Team cars were painted for the Trans-Am series.

  • My test car was the prototype, which had Brembos on it. The production cars come with Baer brakes, which perform very similar according to Shelby. For media purposes, they put the production stickers on the car. Very good spot though.

  • COOL

  • OK... I'm done now. :)
