When I first heard the song, I fucking hated it because I had just lost a friend to heroin and had literally no sense of humor on the topic at all.

With a decade passed since, it really was a pretty awesome song, and my lack of humor at the time was not the songs fault, merely mine.

It's amazing how things can grow with you. Here is a song I didn't like at all when I first heard it in 1998. Now, ten years later, I love it and the melody really speaks to me. On the other hand, though I get the point of the video, I don't like it very much; guess I've just heard this song stand-alone in my head for too long.

Zia McCabe, the chick shaking her tits whilst playing the Korg brand keyboard to the left of the stage, is the bands bass player; (the Korg pulls double duty by acting as a secondary source for lead and rhythm (melody) and in addition bass, much like Ray Manzarek's organ did in/for The Doors .)

You know, what really sucks about this is that the song really only got picked up because people thought it was an anti-drug song. The thing is, the song wasn't nearly as deep as that. The song is actually more "heroin isn't trendy these days" than "heroin is actually bad for you". But hey... whatever gets you on the radio, I guess. Great song, decent album.
