  • dude u hit the spot of my problem .. i love u bro

  • @nikoy122 I was really happy myself when I fixed my video card. Who knew that changing these caps is not so hard. Take Care :)

  • and how long did it worked? i think the quality of aftermarket caps cant be samme as the default ones,,

  • @daDfarSpanTaistheKin Well it is still working, although I built myself a new computer in January and retired my old one.

  • my graphics card also displays the same grabbled text ,, i had earlier repaired it by heating the gpu main chip with heat gun and it worked ,, but it is now again exhibiting the same problem,, all my caps looks fine and flat ... what should i do?

    its mvidia fx 5200 ultra..

  • @daDfarSpanTaistheKin Sounds like you have a micro soldering issue and if the heat gun or oven trick don't fix it, then you might be screwed.

  • well done :]

  • @evo440 Thanks :)

  • great video !

  • rofl my gfx did the same thing to me then died it was super heating at the corner of the card

  • @berezker It's an easy fix, just take your time. Make sure you replace the caps with the same spec's.

  • @homeaddition but i dont know how to solder

  • i have the same probleme with my card now i knew from where the probleme is coming :) thx dude this video helped me a lot!!

  • @Hantout25 You're welcome. Fixing the video card was a lot easier than I expected. 6 months later I upgraded my GPU anyway. I could use the Geforce card I built in another computer now :)

  • DID HE SAY FLUX CAPACITOR???!! oh wait....nm (hahaha :D )

  • youll find this funny - ive been baking my gigabyte 8800gt 4 times already in the oven and it works for about a month afterwards... i moved recently and seems my new oven's too powerful, last time after 5 mins 7 capacitors fell out of the card :D guess what i did? i heated it up again and stufffed them back in their places ( i had to go online n find pics of the same card to know which ones go where) card works like new again! its incredible - ghetto repairs ftw! doing it just for the fun of it

  • also will this work on a laptop video card?

  • @JoshsTechChannel See my other Laptop Video Card Fix.

  • This may seem stupid but how do I find the value of these caps? Thanks

  • @JoshsTechChannel It's written on them. If you are not sure, just take the whole card to a place that sells caps like Radio Shack and they will help you.

  • my card has no blown capacitor, but my problem is, if i inserted on my pci-e slot then i put my vga connector on it , my monitor has no output display at all, but when i put my vga connector on on my mobo add-in graphic card there's a display, while my video card still on my pci-e slot , what is wrong on my geforce 9400 gt video card? pls help...

  • @an2get Maybe the GPU is fried. For a last resort you can do the Video Card Oven Trick to try to fix it. I made a video of that fix also.

  • Hi,thanks for the quick reply..Iam happy that you Vid card is working ???

    You-Tube is a magic site !!

    have a GREAT day, Stewy

  • I was about to chuck my XFX Geforce video card in the garbage until I realized that XFX claims a lifetime warranty. Long story short, XFX did not honor their warranty and that is why I attempted this fix in the video. It's been 4 weeks and it is still working!

  • Hi,i have been into Electronics for thirty years!! and have never seen a capacitor blown like them??Looks like theve been reversed-polarity,probably with a 9volt or 12volt battery. Its NOT FOR REAL !! if the Capacitors are in that condition,What about the IC (intrigated circuit) or the transistors, they are all very more likly to fail, than a CAP.!!

Good Video, very Suspect thou, have a great day---Stewy.

  • @SuperStewartStewart Well I never fixed any capacitors of any kind before. I read up on the internet how to fix the problem and bought the 3 caps. It took me about an hour to do the whole job because I'm not good with soldering and the old caps just didn't want to come off. After I replaced the caps the video card has been running ever since. Blown capacitors on Geforce video cards is very common. Just do a search on Google.

  • @homeaddition Hi,i have a Geforce FX5200 for a PC i built for me.Sadly the fan doesn't spin or if it spins it does a grinding noise. How i can fix it?

  • @bacovia2004 There are replacement fans for video cards. Do a search on Google... I bet Newegg.com carries them.

  • Yes you can fix any video card that has a blown cap. You can repair any electronics even plasma tv's this way, if the problem is a blown capacitor.

  • @homeaddition thanks alot this help me alot

  • @daRkjames99 you're welcome!

  • is this the same to the ATI video card? my problem is like dat, one of VGA capacitor is semi-blown. hope u help me.
