  • I dont think its so much about getting FAT. its more about feeling good mentally as well. I find myself way more productive, sharp, and generally happier when i eat healthy and fresh homecooked food.

  • i get so upset seeing these 12, 13, and 14 year olds on here talking about weight loss, diet, ect. its a shame! children shouldn't be worrying about this stuff. their parents should be making sure they are cooking healthy foods and protecting them from obesity! Parents fail their kids and the media emphasizes more on being thin than healthy. its a shame i feel really bad for our youth. im going to make sure my son is raised healthy and doesnt worry about obesity because i will be doing my job

  • @FedUpWFat I'm 13 and female and I don't know why you're upset. Isn't it a good thing that kids actually want to eat healthier? I'm trying to both lose three pounds and clear my skin, and I also just want to feel healthy and fit. My parents feed me well, but I need to stop eating so much and I don't eat enough fruit. I think it's good for young people to be informed about good eating habits at an early age and want to pursue them.

  • @Nijichan3 because at such a young age you shouldn't be preoccupied with weight and how you look ect! its a shame so much focus is place on appearances in our society. its the parents responsibility to make sure that their children eat correct portions and are adequately nourished. a child shouldn't be worrying about things like that

  • @FedUpWFat My friend is same age as me 14 and she is healthy weight and she got called fat in school, I had to stick up for her because I know she would lose self esteem. People expect us to be thin, I am quite healthy (not thin but not 'fat') too but its the pressure of school not just home. Also tv shows making jokes about not eating which can encourage younger kids not too.

  • I'm. 14 I cook foods for myself I'm not good but I get recipes now it says healthy but when it comes out I type the food in that I made and it ends up being fattening like the chicken parmesan i made with lettuce and growing olives very nice bit of oil delicious but it had 376 calories all together is that allot idk

  • What a great article, all these diets out today are just fad diets that fade fast a good simple diet consisting of a good balance of proteins carbs and essentials fats is key to keeping blood sugar low and good cardiovascular health!   • I really believe it is a habit that we learn from such an early age, but its never too late to change bad eating habits, as long as you make it a lifestyle.

    I know I would be mad if i have to eat healthy food all the time that has no flavor. You can cook delicious healthy meals by using a lot of spices, and most spices are good for your metabolism and your health any ways (cayenne pepper, lemon, garlic, ginger etc ) Try African food at least the way I make them "My African Kitchen"

  • Breakfast: kashi cereal, banana, chocolate milk, snack: nature valley bar, lunch: peanut butter sandwich with grapes, carrots, and sun chips, afternoon snack: protien shake and banana, dinner: whole weat pasta with tomato sauce..and i workout for an hour or 2 every day, i play hockey and go to the gym, is this a good health schedule?

  • I really recommend pasta salad! :) buy some pasta with lots of proteins and corn, mix it with some of your favorite vegetables, add a little dressing and voila! healthy&super delicious :D

  • It's not a diet, It's eating healthy. Swapping out all that JUNK you eat, with fruits and vegetables, lean meats instead of fatty cuts of the same meat, and using lower fat condiments, foods, ect. and drinking milk that's not got hormones in it.
