Oh, Emma is at her most magnificent in this film! She was the perfect choice for Beatrice in this film and it certainly helped that she and Ken were actually married at the time, showing their real-life chemistry. Shame they divorced, though.
I think it's easier for many to understand Shakespeare when seen in movie form. Those who have trouble understanding the language can sort of figure out the meaning by how the actors say it. Thank you Kenneth Branagh!! He did several of these thank goodness. It's in a language of pictures that is too hard for today's linear mind. I'm a little off center mentally myself so it makes perfect sense to me.
This film is wonderful. My fav Shakespeare play paired with a lot of my fav actors. All it needed was Patrick Stewart in there somewhere to be perfect
i remember for drama class i had to read the part of Beatrice. boy was it hard! i applaude Emma Thompsons acting in this. she made it look so easy. all im saying is that you have to be one hell of an actor to pull of a Shakespere role, and she did. *claps loudly* :D
This is my first experience with Shakespear. I have only read Act I so far. This video is good. It is helping me understand it better. Beatrice is pretty. I like her teasing with Benedick also.
LOL the way Emma mocks Ken's accent at 7:12 cracks me up

If you are not going to show all the scenes then don't post this as Much A Do About Nothing.

Emma's best acting! I love her teasing when Benedict's in the mask.
