yeah talking blues was basically started by Woody Guthrie in the 40s and Bob Dylan took it and made it his own from there with stuff like Talkin' WW3 Blues, pretty common stuff i guess.

@faustie31 That's what I love about these guys. They have such a wide appeal and they get people interested in new kinds of music. People that might not normally get into bluegrass or folk or whatever start asking questions and digging deeper into these these kinds of music and artists etc. Not everyone will like Woody, Dylan, Bill Monroe, or Del McCoury etc. but some will.

@ABevs1 definitely. i love it. the way it worked for me was that i've called folk my favorite kind of music for a little while now, but haven't really done that much searching for good folky music. then my friend told me about the Avett Brothers and they are my favorite modern day band, everything that they do is so awesome, i love it.=)
