i don't get how the final boss battle in this game works!
@mrallex that green things are "evolution points", you need to get 800 in every level to go to the mutant (boss).
in the boss get 999 to evolve to the next generation ship.

I think it was listed in the credits under RESPECT INDIE GAMES, so it's prolly true!
Like that the music seems to take many cues from stage 5 of Cho Ren Sha.
