You can gradually get rid of judgment and hatred of others and guilt and judgment against yourself. If you do that, you can feel a lot better and have a better feeling of being alive without buying into any religion or "ism."
The grim secret to the meaning of life is that it's meaningless. The only thing that keeps us going is that which we don't understand. So don't think too hard, it's depressing. Try to feel instead of think sometimes; it may not make sense, but it doesn't have to.
The more you know you become aware of even more things that you don't know. This is only natural.
Criticism? One can learn good and useful things listening to the devil himself if you know how to listen. Criticism is usually the main driving force for improvement (with various results).
I remember somewhere you said you were INTJ. I'm INTJ too and actually don't know anybody else in RL. Well your presentation seems to address the issue that INTJ are not adamant to criticism :)
Ah forgive me, I'm having fascination with MBTI. The feeling will pass.
Reminds me of "the problem with knowing more is the uncomfortable feeling realizing how much more that is hidden from you"
or
"upon opening and examining the contents of the box of knowledge you'll find lots of useful stuff and among that stuff is an even bigger box waiting to be opened"
Playing in the metaphorical snow is fun and enlightening just do not just don't forget your coat. Don't forget your common sense and your beliefs, hold strong onto them until fully convinced otherwise. This is not arrogance this is decisiveness what you yourself bring to the snow.Don't just agree with what feels right. And don't write yourself off as ignorant. That you know nothing. Everyone knows nothing. Arrogance is only when you stand up for a point without any reasonable evidence to stand by
Excellent stuff. I thought the part of criticism of ideas if people want to be helped was thought provoking. I hadn't thought of it like that before, but it makes a lot of sense, all people are entitled to their opinions, but unless someone wants an opinion on something they wrote or said, being critical of a view isn't going to do anything. I think people should keep an open mind and try to learn from the opinions of others, even if they disagree with their views.
it's a ritual where you get to shave of the phoney part of yourself, persona, and get back to your true self. In order to create a new self you have to destroy the old.
Its why they do it in the military. You break down their old personality in order to create
a new one.
There is a liberating feeling that comes from loss because once you lose everything you are free to do anything. Shaving your own head is just a samll taste of that.
There is something ingrained in our culture, or in humanity itself, that makes it feel bad to have been wrong or to have made a mistake. At school we're praised for the right answer, dismissed, ridiculed or punished for providing the wrong one. People who never make mistakes never learn anything new. Where's the fun in that?

I shave my own head because it's cheaper than plugs. Plus I can pull off the look.

Have you seen the visuals to this video? If anything, they're lazy and mundane. I wouldn't say that's trying too hard.
