  • i always think,,, why he didnt run like that in olympics?? (2008)

  • 4:53 - awesome video angle!

  • third best runner in the world

  • after olympics??'

  • Press 4 for beginning of race... press 5 for end of race o_o

  • @NDF211Gunner - lol

  • like for little man in lane 8

  • Jamaikan pantteri :)

  • Haha Darvis Patton finishing half a second behind Asafa! We love you Doc

  • With the best start in the world, Asafa Powell can also challenge the 60m record set by Maurice Green

  • @b45100 y oh y do ppl like you NOT investigate the FACTS before posting?..10m splits are published for various athletes and the only person who has a chance of beating the 60m WR is Bolt. Bolt's start and 10 and 20m splits are as good, or faster than Powell's. And he's miles ahead at 60m.

  • @rcaddict72 it does not concern me on the average times between Bolt and Powell. But if Asafa runs like the way he do here he will break the 60 meters world record set by Maurice green and that is a FACT

  • @rcaddict72 by the way u should read my comments before talking crap. I never mention anything about powell having a faster average start time than Bolt.

  • i love asafa powell - one of the most explosive and electrifing sprinters i kno..

  • @phastman99 hey phast how's it going??

  • @phastman99 this guy has incredible potential.. and like Tyson, they both have not shown their full potential yet !!!

  • If only he ran like this in Major Championship finals. He's still my favorite sprinter, I just wish he could get it together when it matters most. I don't care what anyone says, Asafa Powell can beat Tyson Gay and is still the second fastest man alive behind Bolt.

  • @phastman99 I still believe he can run below 9.70 soon..

  • Inured again but this video still gives me hope of seeing a 9.6 from powell.

  • lol the last comment was 1 year ago

  • the last part.. 4:52.. DAMN! they're so fast, looks like cartoon!

  • After Asafa ran this time he faced off against Bolt in Brussels, where a confident Powell ran 9.83 on a cold, wet evening into a -1.3m headwind (a performance never bettered by Tyson Gay into a headwind). However Bolt still won, finishing in 9.77. Until I watched the Brussels 100m (2008) I believed a confident Powell could beat Bolt however Bolt is truly supreme

  • i love the way Powell runs here.. when he has that pumping motion when he gets up in speed..unfortunally he is so stressed in the big races, so he gets to tight and dont run this relaxed and fast

  • great run, but powell was supposed to go below 9.7 in rieti 2007 when he did 9.74

  • stride rate, stride length, and force applied is the key.

    POWELL FOREVER

  • holy shit they speak fast

  • 4:58 the best movie take in internet

  • the only reson bolt beast powell is cause hes 10cm+ taller

  • 4:54 goood!!

  • i think if asafa powell run like he ran at the 4x100m relay at beijing 2008,especially in the middle race,he would be better and maybe bolt and gay.....

  • I think powell could run a 9.65 at least if he really tried. For different reasons, he never gives 100%

  • Why wouldn't he give 100 % in Olympic final for example? He wants to lose?

  • he knew he was going to win he glanced to his left

  • staying loose at the end of 100m is the most important thing, you run faster when you run loose, when powell is in a close race like in the olympics, etc, he tends to tense up and actually slows down, even though it looks like he is trying harder

  • you are too right

  • Humble guy, but he needs to medal decently for country.

  • Barcox watched this video, Jesus Christ is coming soon

  • does the commentator ever shut up - bloody ruined the race. sounds like a gobbling chicken

  • wat do u want him to do, stay silent? thats wat hes paid for, to speak

  • i dont think ive seen such an impressive mid race phase as this ..ever...

  • This was a great race!!! But his 9.74 looks much more impressive because his reaction and acceleration were better and even though he slowed doing still got a 9.74

  • i disagree...compare the wind speed

  • I say that Asafa Powell ran faster because he wasn't happy at beijing when walter dix beat Asafa Powell. So he want to ran faster to make up for his lost in beijing

  • people you all need to understand that asafa juss needs to train harder and do more 200m and 400m for training cause he does not recover well from rounds im jamaican an watch videoes with him training an i see that so his coach needs to get his stamina up more

  • I like the analysis i really think he needs stamina is recovery rate is low for consistent races, he has confident issues as well is body language say it all, in the 100m final in Beijing he puts his shirt over his head before the race sign of failure. he will be on top again soon a matter of fact he is still on top. Gooo Afasta

  • @2smooth4reel i believe that its a big mental thing too. he even said that he sometimes goes into rounds thinking he was going to lose. and didnt he hold the WR going into the olympics? asafa ran this time after bolt so wouldnt is be his or its shared?

  • @2smooth4reel well i dont see you doing any better. maybe he dont wanna train for 200.

  • Does anyone else notice that Powell stopped running at about 80 or so meters. I could c Safa was going for the WR. I still dont think this guys is finished; he just needs to train some more...physically and mentally & improve his technique...but he is obviously not maxed out

  • I agree i watch this video so many times Asafa is a great athlete has a lot left in him, yes he did slow down

  • Yeh definately its just that he lacks the ability to recover fully from running the rounds to be at his best 2 hours later for the finals.Ofcourse he must suffer from confidence issues not beign very lucky at Champs.I suggest he jogs and qualifies through the rounds cuase he knos that he can do it so he doesnt have to test out his form during the rounds.I hope he gets what he deserves soon GOLD ..To the Worlds SAFA

  • choker.

  • I'm becoming more convinced that the problem is the rounds. His body doesn't recover quickly enough in say an hour to run a good final.

  • Its amazing what a little inspiration can do. I dont know if Asafa would have ran 9.72 if Usain had not come on the scene. Nothing is impossible.
