W/in 10 years or so, there will be the PAC 10/16, Big 10/16, SEC 16 and BIG EAST/ACC hybrid 16 and everybody else. You either get a seat at the grownups table or you don't. If it were up to me I would like NU to still be in the Big 8, have a 16 team playoff, end all war and starvation, and all live together as one big happy world. I am also disappointed that a 'true' Nebraska fan would post something like this. I've grown up in Nebraska my whole life, followed Husker FB, and will always be a fan. But part of what makes a Husker fan a "true" fan is respecting all the opponents we play, regardless of the outcome year in and year out. NU's fans are known for applauding the opposing team as they leave Memorial Stadium in Lincoln after the game, win or lose.

The super conferences you allude to are not really going to fix the Bowl system, they're just going to line the pockets of the (already) rich TV companies. My "concern" is more I just don't like the big ten much, never have, and I AM sad to see Neb go (truly). All this trolling aside my most memorable road game experience was in Neb., Colorado on the other hand... Good riddance.

W/in 10 years or so, there will be the PAC 10/16, Big 10/16, SEC 16 and BIG EAST/ACC hybrid 16 and everybody else. You either get a seat at the grownups table or you don't. If it were up to me I would like NU to still be in the Big 8, have a 16 team playoff, end all war and starvation, and all live together as one big happy world. Since that isn't happening I'd prefer NU be a have and not a have not.

@MultiNurple Michigan? Really? Do you watch college football? Michigan is 12-16 in the Rodriguez era, NU is 24-8 in the Pelini era. And when I said KSU would be UT's bitch, I meant that UT actually runs the Big 12 and KSU is at the "entry level" end of the Big 12 pay scale as so ordained by UT. If we are extending this to an on the field perspctive, I guess KSU can continuie to be the bitch of the majority of Big 12 teams. I guess having NU leave at least makes one fewer annual ass kicking.

@stevewatson81 and yes Michigan, oh master of defending the honor of Nebraska football on youtube!! Michigan is still higher in the influence (not financial) pecking order in the Big 10, kinda like how Perkins talked the BCS into taking KU over MU in the Orange Bowl. Unless you guys are undefeated, you may be taking a "lesser bowl" every year even if you DO beat Michigan head to head. Pay scale has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

@MultiNurple We are actually in a BETTER place in the Big 10's "pecking order" than we have had in the Big 12!! And now we are making 12 mil more per year in a conference that pays Minn. as much as OSU. UT runs the B12 show and looks out for themselves, A&M and OU. You act as if Ohio state and Michigan are the Soprano's and UT and OU are the Cleavers. Please. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. Funny that the example you give of the "lesser Bowl" theory, came in the Big 12.

Bottom line: KSU won't be what they were in the 90s ever again. The big school in that state cares about football now as does Mizzou and both have better financial health. Plus Manhattan's about as attractive as Ames and there's really NO winning tradition as the Snyder Era produced NO NTs and was left the way it was found.
The best case scenario in this new Old Man Snyder experiment would be back to playing in an annual bowl game.

I am also disappointed that a 'true' Nebraska fan would post something like this. I've grown up in Nebraska my whole life, followed Husker FB, and will always be a fan. But part of what makes a Husker fan a "true" fan is respecting all the opponents we play, regardless of the outcome year in and year out. NU's fans are known for applauding the opposing team as they leave Memorial Stadium in Lincoln after the game, win or lose.

yeah us beating #1 oklahoma which was considered one of the best teams of all time in the big 12 championship and then going to the national championship and completely annihilating texas ranked #3 and #4 the last two times weve played them had nothing to do with it

Kansas State has played in 11 bowl games winning 5 losing 6 and none of those games were for national championships.
