Yes tho it doesn't hurt but i can feel the heart struggling to push...

after I sit back to fix it my heart goes into rapid heart beats same with you?

  • Had mine done age 13 at great ormand street. failed due to an infection when the bar was put in. Now aged 20 thinking of doing it again, 100 x more painful than a tattoo or being stabbed.

  • @Travino

Clearly you have never had surgery. Ofcourse he sounds fucking out of it. It's his first day out of hospital and considering he had surgery on his chest, it clearly causes him alot of pain to talk and move. How old are you? 5 or 10?

  • I'm 17 years old and i am getting this done the 14th. I'm outta my fucking mind with fear! xD

  • Oops it's suppose 2 b @badmojo95

  • @badmojo97 same here I have it nd I cnt run for five minutes with out having pain in my chest and lack of air I also have a crappy dr. Who says it doesn't affect anything so my parents wnt do anything about it

  • @alisa4828

I have doctors tell me the same think.. But when I sit up in certain postion my chest pushes on my heart.. then when I fix it causes rapid heart beat,

  • damn you sound/look kind of out of it.

  • nearly as bad as mine. Hopefully you'll respond to the message I'm about to send you.

  • Im a couple of days out of the hospital. Feeling great about my chest now. Not so great in the health department. The pain is pretty bad. But let me tell you, my hole was much worse then yours, if I could link it to you I would, perhaps a message? Yes, I do think I will send one out. Your surgery went excellent my friend, I'm surprised you're not in as much pain as I was on the first day out.

I have a few questions regarding yours just to confirm some about mine, I've never met someone with one

  • I have a question. I got this done about a month and a half ago and I still can not sleep in a bed yet. I have tried and I get really tense and cannot get out of the bed because of the pain. I was wondering how long it took for you to be able to sleep completely flat on your back? I've been sleeping in a recliner this whole time and its really uncomfortable.

  • @macmula11 cause u had a different surgery

  • you guys are lucky i had this done like 5 or 6 years ago and my scar goes all the way across the chest instead of just on the side...

  • I see that were ur hole were u have no mucles.... did the doctor say anything about being able to work up the mucle attachments there so the mucles will go closer to the chest bone ? reply plz :P

  • I am 16 should I wait till I stop growing to get the surgery?

  • @wesizfresh no they say to get it earlist as possible the younger the better

  • um they actually do stick it up your dick. Hate to break it to you.

  • I think I'm going to be having this done later this year, I'm really scared about waking up after the surgery .. what's the pain like ?

  • @ModemPictures It really isnt that bad, i guess it depends on the individual..you're just really out of it, the worst pain is usually after they take you off major pain meds, then it becomes really uncomfortable and the only relief youll have is the first 90 minutes after you take your medicine.

  • @ursian1 Thank you for answering, would you say the surgery is worth it .. and how long after the surgery could you continue or begin exercising.

  • @ModemPictures 110% worth it id do it again in a heart beat

  • @ModemPictures hey bro I just had got my Nuss in August and I had no pain at all until they took the epidural out. I don't want to scare you or anything but it was the worst pain of my life. But it was totally worth it!!! I didn't know that I could get morphine at the time but I suggest you ask for it after they take the epidural out. And after that their was not much pain besides when I sneezed and made any quick jerking motions. It really isn't bad at all thought!

  • @ModemPictures the pain is manageable. i had a bad reaction to the pain meds which caused me to vomit. throwing up hurt like hell bc your sternum and ribs are cracked and broken somewhat. i was walking on day 2 post op

  • When were u able to start workout again if u did that? also what do u need to have for kind of issue to get the surgery? is it shortness of breath and stuff like that? because I have this to... and I've been at a doctor that sent me on a list to a bigger hospital to let them look at it... and I just wanna know if im able to get rid of it... would be great..:S

  • Did they stick a tube up your penis?

  • @LuxE954 oh god i hope not .. :(

  • This is an amazing result. My surgery didn't look half as good. Congrats.

  • So i really want this surgury as well, how much does the procedure cost?

  • @MrObliviion If your condition is severe enough that it meets the criteria for the procedure to be medically necessary, your health insurance should cover it, other than whatever your deductible may be. The three main criteria are execise intolerance, compression of heart and/or lungs and a CT (Holler) index greater than 3.2. A CT scan and/or cardiac MRI should be able to provide the info for this. Your GP should order a chest x-ray and echocardiogram, then the CT scan or cardiac MRI.

  • dont die plz lol

  • its crazy reading how many ppl say they have it to beacause i have it to. man props for making this video, mines is about the same as yours was and im gettin my surgery in march..im so fuckin stoked. i just wanna take of my shirt an finally have it be normal looking, an man your chest looks awsome now dude....have a good one man peace

  • man that must hurt like MF!

  • did it hurt ?

    I have the same problem...=(

  • man this is crazy my friend had this done to her

  • I had this surgery done a few months ago i know how it feels i was just wondering if you have a myspace of facebook i could talk to you on, i have a few questions?

  • I have the same problem as you, and my question is.! is always the same result that left the surgery? Not return to sink the chest again? Please, what did the doctor say?

  • I heard you have to replace the bar every two to three years, so does that mean surgery every 2-3 years...... I hope it's not true. I have it but I haven't really decided on when to have the surgery

  • @animeblaster378 haha, no its not true. You should only have to have surgery twice, one surgery to put the bar(s) in, and one to take them out, which is usually after 2-3 years.

  • @animeblaster378 its a load of shit that youve heard, im getting it in a month and it stays in for up to 3 years thn is taken out. and boom! you got a "normal" chest again. lol! cant wait for mine tbh.

  • :( im gettn march :(

only 14 guess it guna fkn hurt alot :/

  • Im 14, would i be able to handle the pain from the surgery?I have it too

  • @xXMyXKipXIsXFreshXx Depends, are you a man. Or a woman? Lol :) I have Pectus carinatum and..... I have to have surgery inorder to play football again.

  • I also have had the nuss procedure 10 days ago

I realy recognize your hard breathing and your false position

So 10 days ago i had the surgery and I realy feel much better, also don't take that much pain killers

  • Hey man, just had the Nuss bar stuck in me last week. I'm recovering pretty well, at home after five days, and I'm up and about walking (under heavy painkillers still)

That really sucks about the bar moving, I hope the next one goes much better for you.

  • we're not differents, we're specials bro, now almost 1 year later since u uploaded this, i hope u feel better with ur body

  • i am 16 years old and i think i may have mild p.e. my chest looks excactly like your chest in this video (the after surgey) Do you think i have p.e. or is that just genetics???

  • @WoWAzo Pectus Excavatum is genetics. If you think you have a case like this then I'd recommend visiting your local GP and asking for a specialist. I am talking from experience, I had my P.E operated on just over a week ago.

  • i had my surgery 2 weeks ago on friday. i hope it wont flip o_o.

  • oh gosh mate, haven't had the time to watch the video for entire, cos I got an exam tomorrow, but I readed the description, I'm so sorry u were so unlucky and suffered so bad, hope it's ok now,,, c u soon, gotta go now, best wishes!

I am in your condition at the start, maybe just a little more deep chest, and 22 y old... keep it up!

  • i did this too i was 14 dint even pain after it nothing

  • I had the nuss procedure and was in the hospital for 9 days, only to come home and have the bar get displaced. I just got back after another 4 days in the hospital.

  • hahah youre goneeeeeeeeeee.... is the surgery worth the pain nd inactivity? like i cant stay inactive for for more than 3 weeks. i lift and i dont want to lose muscle

  • @Leeshizzle294 It depends how severe your case is. You can always rebuild muscle can't you. I decided to face the losses and take the operation. The pain isn't bad - they provide you with very efficient pain killers. The reason I took the operation was because my "dip" was compressing my heart 2 inches, which at the age of sixteen and still growing could have been potentially dangerous.

  • Please answer this!!!!!!!!

I have funnel chest and am thinking about having the surgery done.about how bad was the pain out of 10 and what was the entire procedure like out of 10?

    THANKS!!!

  • @lozahas

For me, the first three days after surgery were very negative - loss of appetite, wanting to just sleep. The pain side however, the surgeons, doctors and nurses all do a very good job to keep you pain free - so the pain is kind of up and down. at some points it can be like 7 or 8, then they give you painkillers and it drops to 3 or 4. you just have to ride with it really.

  • holy shit you are fucked up on those painkillers lol

  • ursian1 may i ask how old you are? I was suppose to correct my condition when i was younger and was too afraid to have it done. now that i'm in my mid 20's it's gotten worst. Really considering it now before it gets worst.

  • @jmg544 I just had the nuss procedure done 5/19 this year I am almost fully off pain killers except for motrin.. I am 24 years old so I was in the same situation as you.. Mine was very assymetric and I had mine corrected at the childrens hospital of the kings daughters in norfolk va... Under doctor Robert Kelly. Best decision of my life. let me know if you have any questions about the procedure..

  • i'll get my surgery too i'm really scared:S

i really hope it's going to be fine

  • @JbProduct same here.

  • hey i think i might be getting this done soon... how long was it before you could feel sort of normal again and could do physical exercise?

  • i know there are 2 procedures for p.e i have a pretty severe case can the nuss procedure work for all cases or will it only work on some cases?

  • @xIReliable There is the ravitch and nuss procedure. As far as i know the nuss can be used on any severity. But its really the doctors call as to what they think is best for you.

  • @ursian1 Yes the procedure can be done on any case. the more severe case you have then the more painfull it will be tho. its not 100% up to the doctor tho. if you want it done they will do it.

  • @ursian1 Lol the doctor said my chest is to bad for nuss and he just said, I have to do it the 'old school' way. btw my surgery is on wednesday, or no, that's when I fly out to get it done.

  • @xIReliable Basically, the nuss procedure works for all kind of thorax deformations. However, the ravitch procedure is the only treatment of pectus excavatum with satisfying long term results. This cannot be guaranteed for the nuss procedure because there is a risk that the chest after having removed the pectus bar(s) can sink again.

  • @misterknuddelfeck What I just heard today was that the recurrence of P.E. post Nuss recurs mostly when the bar flips. Don't do any jumping jacks or exercising that requires lifting your arms above your head and this won't be likely to happen. Also make sure they anchor the bar to your ribs. The other factor could be having the surgery done before you have finished growing.

  • @xIReliable Hey !! I have P.E and Im getting operated in like a month and a half...Im not really scared about waking up after, I WAS but as long as Im gonna get rid of this " hole " than Ill deal with the pain... Im getting the ravitch procedure done because I compete in motocross....With the ravitch procedure it only takes 1 year to completely start doing hard stuff...With the nuss p. It takes about 2 - 3 years !! Ravitch is way better plus.

  • I probably have the same hole size that u had. After the surgery how do you feel about it? like are you happy with the results? more comfortable about taking off ur shirt? stuff like that.

  • @krazy1luv Initially after the surgery you dont really care. You just so out of it. Its like you have a normal chest that hurts and its got a bar in it. Later when you get back home you start to appreciate it more. Simple things like taking a shower and wearing shirts feels different. And yeah you do feel alot more comfortable taking off your shirt. After the surgery the scars look pretty bad but give them like 6 months and they can improve alot, at least in my case.

  • Mines as bad as yours was. Hospital stay time? cost? and how long inactivity? really looking into the nuss procedure

  • @giovanniciraulo Hospital stay is about a week. Cost is about $40,000, but with insurance about $4500. Inactivity is about 1 month, but technically 3 months until you can return to sports, lifting etc.

  • thats a great result!!! and i like how you look like you're high off the meds :P

  • Had surgery in May 09 man. I appreciate your video. I logged my entire procedure all through the surgery in hospital and still to this day. Good job man. You will be in some pain for about two months but then it lessens and lessens. Then you can do some normal stuff like get up on your own.

Tips: Sleep on your own. Get a rope tie it to something to pull yourself up. Also get a wedge pillow. Also, stretch as much as you can. Message me if you need anything.

  • i have pe, and it is very savere but has never been diagnosed. I live in canada what type of coverage will i get? who sould i go see?

  • @zoomorphicrap The biggest empty space in inside your head, Mr Crap, and it indeed is very "SAVERE". You "SOULD" see a psychiatrist.

  • I just got mine removed yesterday, its not as bad when you remove it.

  • YOU CAN HAVE SURGERY FOR THIS!?! GOOD GOD!!! I HAVE THIS REALLY BAD... Wow, gonna get this sorted out for sure.

  • Ok I just saw some sever pictures, mine is probably moderate... Damn, this has been causing me so much hassle for the past 4 years of my fucking life! So relieved their is an actual medical term for it!

  • was ur case a mild, moderate or severe

  • @AlpineSkierX My case was between moderate and severe.

  • I have the same haller and i am going to get it done in two weeks, fun eh?

  • It costs about about 40,000$. But with insurance, we had to pay about 4500.

  • looks fine

  • now that you've had it in for a month, do you feel any tightness or pain. I plan to get his done at the beginning of next summer.

  • after 6 weeks from surgery (a week ago) the stabilizers became unsecured and the bar flipped 45 degrees in my chest. This happened over a period of about 3 days. It isnt quite as bad as it sounds..but i had to redo the entire operation. So now i am doing the whole thing over again. Its not as bad the first time but def not fun. Chances are, this wont happen to you.

  • were you able to feel it when the bar flipped? did it hurt orrr could you feel it moving around?

  • the first days after the surgery largely depend on if your managing your pain correctly. Make sure you ask for morphine (or any other pain killers) regularly even if your not in pain atm. Keeping it consistent will keep you comfortable and it wont be painful at all. When you get home it becomes a long struggle. There is not alot of pain but its VERY difficult. Of course this is all just my experience. You lose alot of weight. You dont feel like doing anything. A big thing is that you cant use ..

  • any sleeping position other than on your back. This takes a toll on your back. After you get off the painkillers its REALLY hard to sleep and you go into cold sweats and your uncomfortable the whole night. I wont go into anymore detail. I would just like to point out that though there are moments of pretty severe pain. They are only going to be in your hospital stay and they will happen because your nurses arent doing t heir job. The real test is weathering out all the little challenges...

  • After a month you'll be feeling mostly back to normal. There is not alot of tightness. Its hard to explain the experience. Id just like to point out again.. Dont be afraid of the hospital stay..as long as your confident in the hospital to give you regular pain medication. Its when you get back when it gets tough because its so long. "It isnt so much painful as uncomfortable" Well i know its long, and could be dif for everyone but i hope this gives you a better idea of what its like.

  • dude i felt the same.... i swear i was in the hospital for 10 days , about 5 days longer b/c i keep spiking up fevers. When i was home i didnt leave my bed for about 2-3 weeks only to use the bathroom i was always in so much pain and so week. Even after the surgery now its been about 11 months had mine done in children hospital of LA on Dec. 22. 2008 at 10 am

  • so*

  • lol! it seems to painful! hmmm the reason u fixed your chest was cosmetic?

  • Well, my haller was 3.8 so thats in the far moderate range. My main reason was cosmetic but it definitely affected my breathing.

  • Excellent result!!

  • looks great... having the surgery is my dream... i feel like i cant live my life with this...

  • i know exactly how you feel
