In January at your latitude the angle is ALWAYS 45degrees give or take 1 or 2 degrees.. If you review your own video you can see that you got the right angle several times but didn't see it. In June the angle is back 10 degrees at 35. Those angles are constants. Judge 1.5 degrees for every month between January and June, etc. It takes the guess work out and allows you to adjust precisely. I'm amazed it worked. Lining a funnel with foil and putting some tinder on a stick would work too.
@MrJoeyBoombotz That's a real good tip thanks. You are right, when I reviewed the vid it was easy to see, but it wasn't easy to see when I was looking at it from behind. The light is intense, I have to shield my eyes somewhat or risk serious eye damage. I think that vid was made in late August or September. My picnic table is covered in snow right now and the sun never hits it because of the big house next door. :)
