  • Gotta love Willie Nelson. He might not have the best singing voice in the world, but that's what i like about him. There's no bullshit attached to him, he just sings and feel's the song and you know he means it.

  • I am older than hippies and have heard this song sung by many. But, when I hear it in my head, it is always Willie that is singing it.

  • @cosmikation Me to This was on Stardus album I believe. Great album

  • Dude he sucks, skrillex is

    So much better

  • Willie for President

  • never heard a hippy sing as gold as nelson

  • @kickthedamcat That's a song by Irving Berlin. Not a hippie as such but we wouldn't argue.

Berlin wrote this in celebretion of the birth of his daughter. The first thing that would have come to mind would be to clobber the likes of you to bloody pulp if you came close to her. But Berlin wrote this. He was a greater man most of us. As is Willie.

I still got this lead-filled baseball bat, tho. And I'm sitting on my veranda. You did NOT pass the test.

    Scallywag.

  • @bfandreasyt YAWN ... who cares loser, you just keep sitting on ya veranda drinking your life away reminiscing over the good old days when you were just a young red neck.

  • Wow, he is so sexy and this song is so positive.

  • Dummy me just found out this song came out in the 1920's. I always believed that WIllie was the original artist who wrote and sang this song. My respects just went up for Willie even more. GREAT JOB!!! GREAT SONG!!!

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE It's been composed by Irving Berlin celebrating the birth of his daughter. Wilie did the definite version. I adore them them both for it.

  • @bfandreasyt Another news flash for me, I had NO clue either its been composed by Irving Berlin. Yeah!! I can fully understand your respect for both.

  • I LUV U WILLIE!!!

  • wonderful you just cant beat willie..... he is the greatest.

  • Best concert i ever went to.

  • Saw him as a back up band with Dylan, stole the show !

  • Some informational: this song was first performed by Al Jolson in "The Jazz Singer", so it was one of the first songs anybody heard in a movie.

  • WATT THA FUCK DOES UK KNOW ABOUT SOME WILLIE?

  • @flymarvin The Brits are on top of a lot of things, and in a lot of cases, ahead of everybody else. Willie gets radio play all over the planet.

  • I think a Willie Nelson/Bret Spiner (Data) duet is in order......

  • Blues Eyes smiling at weed.

  • @steelydrwu lol smartass

  • :D

I sing this in choir and omg we suckk

Half on our choir is either whispering it or yelling it.

  • willie nelson, king of the gingers

  • Willie looks pretty dang good here. Never realized there was a good-looking man under all that scruff!

  • i wanna get that exact haircut and walk around for a couple days just to see people's reaction.

  • Grab the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • @BaillieJohannsen71 this is off the album "Stardust". the record label said it would be a flop but then it brought willie's career to a whole new level.

  • @PCPrabbit "Stardust" is a TERRIFIC country classic. Each song will bring as smile to your face.

  • yeah man i was just expressing my opinon to

  • Gottseidank spielt seine Band für ihn.

  • Happiness = listening to WILLIE NELSON on a lazy Sunday and drinking red wine !

  • Man look at his pupils lol My guess is the man was stoned out of his gourd maybe even trippin a little when he was singing this in England... I love this song don't get me wrong! Willie is a great man to talk to! Very nice and polite

  • GREEN BAGS

    SMILIN' AT ME

    GREEN BAGS

    STAY AWAY BORDER COPS

    ROFL!

WILLIE NELSON IS FULL OF THC AND SINGS THROUGH HIS NOSE - BUT HE IS STILL A VERY, VERY TALENTED GUY, HANG IN THERE WILLIE!

  • Willie had a mullet??? who knew.....and you can almost taste the cocaine in this performance...1982 what can you say....

  • This was a hit when my daughter was tiny. I sang it to her all the time. By the time she was three, she could sing it really well. Well, now she has blue skies ALL the time. Rest in peace baby. I love you.

  • This guy doesn't know what a tempo is. Truly a terrible artist.

  • @trombonemassa BOOO!!!

  • @trombonemassa shut up u piece of shit ur a fucking failure at life he makes more a show then u will make in ur life time

  • @TheCrazyjoker420 Jeez... I didn't mean to hit a nerve. If you have to defend ol' Willie like that, then you need to get a life. I was simply expressing my opinion from an artist's prospective. Calm down.

  • @trombonemassa It's a jazzy 20's song, so in the style there would be a very loose tempo

  • I remember Willie... I remember...!!

  • I'm guessing 1982-ish.

  • willie IS the song! (:D

  • saw him on 2010 gastburry and watched him play that guitar is worn but sounds great it got a hole but its great

  • Hey Willie!

  • Awesome WILLIE NELSON!!

  • what the hell year is this from....willie looks like a youngster

  • This should be a national anthem ,,somewhere..

  • Sounds like somebodys got everything going their way....nothing but blue skies smiling at me. Anyway there definetly positive lyrics, in otherwords nothing broken hearted, no hurt & sorrow or break up & rain here....in nothing but blue skies do i see. I like the acoustic sound, which is so noticable in live concert, thx4 posting & sharing Blue Skies.

  • Hmm ...very nice indeed ...

  • Willie Nelson is going to give a concert here in Berlin in two days and I've got tickets!! I'm so excited ...

  • @thundereye92

Saw him a couple months ago and was expecting a somewhat half-assed performance. I was wrong - the man is still at the top of his game.

  • @subg88 well then I guess that I'll have a great time tomorrow!

  • Nice nice!! I first heard this song on Star Trek - Nemesis, and I was wondering who wrote it... and now I know =))))

    Simply THE BEST!!

best wishes from MACEDONIA <3 =)

  • @ZombieMK Irving Berlin composition.

  • kimberly albrecht the most sweetes girl in this world i will always remember you i wish you that best

  • Thank You, Willie- Beautiful. Blessings to You and Yours, ALWAYS.

  • He his forever young.

  • This is not is best song to sing, anything else and willies away with the mixer, to be honest it's pretty boring, those blues skies should change colour after a bit it's very repetative.

  • Love Willie but not loving the mullet!

  • hey, does anyone know who sang this originally?

  • its from the show betsy written by irving berlin

  • ah , thankyou :D

  • im pretty sure it was ella fitzgerald

  • @07samanthajay frank sinatra's rendition is probably the most well known

  • epic

  • Betty Hutton sang a wonderful rendition of this great classic. Willie is a stylist and never claimed to be a great singer/artist. As far country singers, I think Merle Haggard could have sang Blue Skies and taken us right back to the 1920-30's.

  • agreed.

  • not one of the better covers

  • My dad played this when I was about 10 on record, now I`m 30+ and the song just gets better and better. Good to see Willie in action.

  • Same here, when my mom was out of the house he would break out the killer records willie, james brown and of course richard pryor and red fox.

  • Ronaldo.

  • This old trigger. Great guitar player.

  • Ah yes..Willie..what could be better....that voice..that guitar...soooo good!

  • right

  • Passable, but is it as good as Sinatra's?

  • Coolest man to ever adorn the mullet.

  • approx. 1:20 ...best classical electric guit/ harp solo harmony ever.

  • YOU JUST ASKED FOR THUMBS DOWN.

  • how? ppl have a rite to there opinions

  • ppl have a rite to thumbs down

  • Yea i guess so but people also have a rite to speak there opinion and shouldnt be put down for it

  • yea i know. im speaking my opinion. by thumbs downing yours/.

  • Dudes this is the best song ever i don't know what you saying but this rules.

  • best version of the song ever !

  • yes it is.

  • i like willie nelson, but i gotta say i like frank sinatra on this song more.

  • the guy is amazing!

  • This dude is always high :)

  • I would have loved to see Willie and his son Ricky on stage together

  • @scooterperth WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!

  • one of a kind !

  • This was beautiful. I love the emphasis and phrasing of his voice. I see some comments about his lack of singing talent, but I strongly disagree. Willie has immense talent and expresses it with a lot of soul (something which shows through his syncopation the roundness of his abbreviated notes. Thanks for putting this out there!

  • Agree

  • you,re right -

  • Nice Mullett Willie!

  • haha this must have been around 91 when Billy Ray was big.

  • surely you're not referring to that savage mullet? lol

  • both alaskaslim and retracdivad need to just freaking drop it and appreciate the music man!!! It isn't about being right or wrong... it is about feeling the music man! Just listen and enjoy... willie is amazing and so is Irving Berlin... just chill the both of you! geesh... good music is good music no matter who puts it out... or how old, new, hip, or anything else it may be. If you enjoy it then ok...just relax and calm yourselves...

    -Darrenn Walters

  • The one and only....... WILLIE! Blue skys from now on

  • he issssss good!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just wish he would sing on tempo one time. crap its anoying when he goes "nothinbutblueskiesallday.........long"

  • Willie my cool, crazy uncle even with a mullet. Tell Dennis his wife is hot.

  • Damn,Are you that dumb all by your self or did you have to work at it ?????????????

  • Willie is the man. God Bless the USA!!

  • hey this is a good song

  • great song by a great fellow pot head(the way he does it I mean I know he did not write it)

  • Saí,fui ao cemitério e trepei numa árvore. Cantei Blue skies lá em cima.(Kerouac em On the Road)

Curiosa, ouvi com Ella Fitzgerald e Sinatra, porém...Elegi esta versão como favorita

  • The master, bloody brilliant

  • cool cover man

  • Is it just me, or does he completely butcher this awesome song?

  • No it is just you. Granted the original version of this song by Irvin Berlin but this version is still really good.

  • didn't willie write this song

  • No no no. Irvin Berlin wrote it back in the day

  • Irvin Wrote it, I know that. But I've personally sang this song, I just think I can do better than he can (without trying to sound cocky).

  • Willie is fantastic. I prefer his studio version of this song on the "Stardust" album. Although I also like the way he sings the melody in this live version. It is a bit different.

  • I don't know, I just don't know if he can, as a country singer, sing a Vocal Jazz song.

  • Although, Frank Sinatra's version is amazing.

  • hell yeah

  • @155RRR BULLNUTS Willlie could sing the freakin phonebook and make it sound fantastic!!!

  • @cookw100 Well, this isn't the phone book. This is Irvrin Berlin and bloody fantastic. It boggles the mind, acually.

  • true that

  • ... Willie Nelson can't sing... the way he just jumbles this song proves that... I think he may in fact be tone deaf....

  • ever think maybe your tone def? i mean honestly if you are a musician youll know and understand his style. Besides cool it is timeless and amazing to see. Hes rugged and imperfect and sweet. Hes also one of the most prolific american song writers.

  • No... he's tone deaf all right, he improvs too many notes not be, they're called 'marks' if you don't hit them, you're not falling the tone of the song.

I like many of his songs... just not when he sings them.

  • screw tone, this guy has no rhythm :S

  • just shut the crap up he knows how to sing and has made a living off of it since the

1950s and its just his voice alsoooo john denver is just the same as willie nelson!!! so shut the crap up and learn your country legends better!!!!
