  • Never played any other than C64 versio, listen to those musics.

Shooting "shitballs" weapon, well actually those brownish worms looks like crawling feces anyway.. C64 has best version imo.

  • This takes me back! AS introduced me to pc gaminng I couldn't believe I was having so much fun; until then (1988/9) I'd only ever used my pc for work. I played it on my Atari ST w/ a joystick and used it so much I injured my hand. I wish I had this gamefor my pc today.

  • @Ruffian144 google DOS games Alien syndrome. & get DOS Box. :) very easy :D You can find them very easily now..

  • @wingnut4427 Thanks wingnut4427! I downloaded AS & am now playing it on my pc. The game seems to run much faster than the games above. Any suggestions as to how I can slow it down?. Thanks.

  • @Ruffian144 Sweet ! Glad I could Help. You may need to change the CPU pace. You can do this while Dos box is open Hold the CTRL button & Press F11 to slow the CPU cycle or the F12 to speed it up. You can adjust it accordingly while the game is running & get the exact speed You want. Hope this info helps :)

  • I always loved the Sega Mastersystem version of Alien Syndrome. Its graphics may not have been on par with the arcades(obviously, since it was an 8-bit system), but it was fun, challanging, and vibrant. I also liked the fact the boards were confined to a single screen with no scrolling, like Smash TV. It gives the feeling of entrapment that I feel the Arcade version lacked.

  • @moshomaniac1 I'll have to agree with you on the SMS version. My favorite port.

  • Can someone please explain to me why in almost all the home versions, the scrolling lags behind the player movement? The arcade doesn't do that and I could understand if a couple of the versions did it, but almost all of them do it!

  • yet again the GG & SMS Versions seems to be superior thx for the vid.

  • I think the Commodore 64 is the clear home port winner here.

  • As I remember, the Amiga version was pretty darn good but it's been quite a while since I've seen this game in any format!

  • @BluTrilobite - Technically, the Amiga version was a decent port, if you ignore the fact that they left out two of the levels! Don't get me wrong, it had decent (though not great) graphics and played pretty well, but it was too short.
