I agree. Gir is way too overrated, that's why I like Zim, Gaz, Tak, Dib, Skoodge, and all the other hated ones. I don't understand why people like Gir so much. Randomness? I mean really. I even like Tallest Spork and Miyuki, and they didn't even get to appear on the show!

Zim is very popular with the fangirls, just second to Gir. Gir is the biggest fan-base character. but Zim has a pretty damn big fanbase. Oddly,Dib has a sizable fanbase as well...but everyone else in the show isn't thought of that much, Tak is hated, and even though I like Gaz she doesn't get much attention.
