there is no such thing as copying in basketball. just because Kobe uses the fade away, that means he's copying MJ? their style of play is very similar but you play to what your comfortable with. If Kobe is considered to copy MJ's fade aways just because MJ's started using the fade aways more often than other player, then ill say MJ copied the layup, the jumpshot, reverse lay up, free throw line dunk, pump fake, etc etc. its part of the game so shut up about the Kobe and MJ comparisons already

It's easy to understand why people think the same as you, because Kobe is the most recent NBA's best player, but really for someone that has watched both in their primes, it's really a no contest, MJ was simply stronger, more explosive, faster, quicker, more intimidating, more consistent/dominating, more smooth/natural
I hope you watch Jordan's 91-93 games for his prime (pure explosiveness unstoppable midrange), and 96-98 Jordan to see the fadeaways that Kobe copied

Just to save you the trouble of searching for 91-93 games, I think this 92 game illustrates my point pretty well, Jordan was too smart/too explosive with excellent footwork/fadeaway, and simply wasted no energy with his moves, every single one of his moves were efficient
