I think the Zionists are ultimately aiming for a one state solution (with a jewish population majority). Through different types of pressure, they are trying to make the arab of "palestine" leave so they can form a jewish majority state. Compare the palestinian territory to what it is now with the UN's partition in the late 40s, and also take into account how they are trying to make the palestinians compromise for the pre-july 1967 borders int eh peace agreements.
imo, a 2 state solution would be a poor situation to be for the palestinians, living in a partitoned country (Gaza and the West Bank) would create another set of disputes over transit between the two territories...

You see, that's the kind of attitude that isn't going to get you anywhere. The road to peace necessitates compromise - hard compromise. Of course, I admit that the Jerusalem idea will (probably) never fly with most Israelis in a hundred years; nor would such a move guarantee peace in the first place. But there are never guarantees in such situations.
I don't buy the "It belongs to the Jews" argument because as far as I can see it's strictly a religious argument, and I'm not religious.

I think the Zionists are ultimately aiming for a one state solution (with a jewish population majority). Through different types of pressure, they are trying to make the arab of "palestine" leave so they can form a jewish majority state. Compare the palestinian territory to what it is now with the UN's partition in the late 40s, and also take into account how they are trying to make the palestinians compromise for the pre-july 1967 borders int eh peace agreements.

Agreed. But it's good to get the answer for the general question first: Whether one is willing to compromise, or eager for absolute victory. Once this questions is answered, the very important questions you ask SHOULD be addressed.

I believe the Israelis want to compromise and the Arabs want victory, but they know they can't have it. Of course it's a huge overgeneralization, but that is my opinion. I'm not claiming to be objective, but as much as I want to believe peace can be achieved, too many killings and vows to eradicate Israel convinced me that there is NO will for compromise on the Palestinian side. I lived under their terror for too many years. Many of them talk peace in English and war in Arabic.

I claim: If there's a will, howcome it is impossible to achieve peace. And why Jason Alexander or Danny Devito tell people they should do anything they can? They should act. That's all. problem is, its not that simple. Even if the Palestinians in this organization have good hearts, and they probably do, how can they assure the Israelis that Hamas, Hezbollah, the Syrian and Iranian governments etc. won't simply use any concessions as one more step in their goal of eradicating Israel? There has to be a change in Islam itself -- the way it is practiced and taught -- before Israel can lower its guard. I wish them the best, I just don't know how they can do it.
