I believe it is a Martin. I Googled "vedders gear" and There is one listed called a sting mini. That sounds right, as it is definitely a compact guitar. But I am not sure. I cheated because I know how to play this song and I could tell he was using the appropriate chords for a guitar.

@marrdw Is it tuned higher? Or is it because of the gauge strings he's using that it's so resonant?

@counsellorfinleyband I know some times blues players will put electric strings on an acoustic guitar, but I think the guitar body just resonates the treble more because the body is so small. Tomorrow I will try to play along with a std tuned guitar and see if the notes match.

@counsellorfinleyband I think this is the "Sting" signature Martin Mini. Ed's a lucky bastard, only 100 were made in 2005. Elderly instruments website says the guitar is in "nashville" tuning(1/3 higher than standard guitar).

@counsellorfinleyband No, it is a descendant of the mandolin family, except it is larger and has 6 strings played individually instead of in pairs. It is a pretty obscure instrument, thats why you are not familiar with it. It is called a "Guitar".
