so the hyenas don't get poisoned from the cobra venom inside the lion cubs? how much venom does a cobra deliver in a bite. this is some incredible footage.. this is so amazing...
I left watching 'Eternal enemies' on netflix because it was just so sad to see this poor lioness first losing her babies and then being attached by Hyenas. I am glad I checked up the vid to see that she survived!

Lions have no natural predators and can kill anything from a rabbitt to an elephant. They are vicious hunters in a world of kill or be killed. I know it looks sad to see a Lion die but it is all a part of the nature balancing itself.
So if the cameraman interferes then the hyenas don't get to eat. Interfering with nature always makes someone suffer. We just feel sorry for the lions because most people find them adorable. If only we grew up with hyena teddy bears we would find this vid much less emotional. Get over it. Everything will die one way or another!!!
To all the dumb motherfuckers who are bitchin about the cameraman not interfering......Lions and snakes kill people, so leaving them the fuck alone was a good decision on the cameramans part!
i understand letting nature take its course, but humans are a PART of nature, and i fully believe the dumbass that watched this should have done something to help, why do we not include ourselves as a part of nature by helping, we can murder each other and steal and pay for people to sit in prison, but we cant help a den of lions as we watch them get destroyed, barbaric in my opinion, and i hate that outlook on nature.
I can't begin to explain how wrong you are. If you can't handle how nature works then you shouldn't watch the videos that show the truth. Nothing is EVER on top of the food chain.
@Bbobb6969 sorry but you are totally wrong. why do you need to protect only the lions? maybe we should protect the snake and the hyenas, animals attacking other defenceless animals is a normal thing and it happens all the time in africa. you don't like it? fine, go to africa with your own money and help all the animals that YOU like, nobody is stopping you from doing that.
My tabby cat got bit by a water moccasin when he was about 1 yr old. His entire arm instantly swelled up truly about 5X its normal size. I thought the cat would die because he ran away from me to hide. I found him 5 hrs later. The vet drained the fluid and for weeks after half of the cat's paw was a hard crust like it was dead flesh. In the months after, the paw was fine and only a small scar remains. To my surprise, the vet said that domestic cats usually don't die from poisonous snake bites!
Cats are the return of the Synapsid predators that were the apex predators and dominate form of life before the rise of the Dinosaurs. How can you argue cats would be supreme against all other forms of life, when their ancestors were and only stop being due to changes in the environment that brought them into extinction and only allowing their mammalian relatives to survive.
Only a "culture" such as yours would capitalize on a snake's venom killiing cubs and wounding a mother, etc. and titleing the clip "...cowardly Lions..."...slimy gay priks. A Lion is substantially stronger than a Tiger.
HA PWNED!!! Im glad that snake killed those lions. and btw, for all of you that are saying, "Oh why didnt the camera man help Bla bla bla", Its nature dude....You dont mess with wild life. This happens all the time. Those animals are born to kill and eat each other. Thats what life is to them. Its not your place to say an animal must cause of what happened. If you wanna do something about it, then go hunt all the snakes in the world. Good Luk. :D
Bobcats occassionally kill small rattlesnakes lol. Thats it. House cats routinely get killed by venomous snakes even if they ambush them[ which puts the snake at a disadvantage]. Big cats get killed as do elephants rhinos etc, You really are on ignorant fool
@TA152H01 Thats complete ridiculous bullshit. Snakes aggressively envenomate non-prey items all the time. The kill 80,000 humans each year you idiot. A snake considers anything that moves towards it to be a threat. The lions were in the cobra den spot and they paid the price. The snake was also shedding which makes it more aggressive and eager to bite. Most cobras have 150-250mg of venom which is more than enough to kill a freaking sabertooth let alone a lioness.
@TA152H01 First off the cobra bit the 3 cubs first and then proceded to bite the lioness on the back leg[ the best place to be bitten as its far away from the heart]. Had the cobra bitten the lioness first she probably would have gotten a large dose of venom and would have died. Secondly it was a snouted cobra which is less toxic than the cape cobra, the indian cobra, the monocoled cobra, the chines cobra, the phillipine cobra, etc.
TA152HO1 you are 100 percent wrong and have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to snakes. Their are plenty of venomous snakes that can kill big cats and their are quite a few accounts of big cats dieing from snakebite. As for house cats they are also commonly killed. I have numerous accounts of Elephants, Rhinos, Lion, Leopards etc being killed by venomous snakes. You are an idiot and should not be posting about subjects that you clearly are ignorant on
@yobro250 I guess you're too stupid to know that Bobcats kill snakes for food.
House cats easily kill snakes, if they are still wild enough to know they are dangerous. A completely domesticated cat that doesn't realize the threat, or an old cat, is the only chance a snake has. Otherwise, they are cat food.
most heart wrenching thing I have seen on You Tube about animals. The camera people should have killed the bastard snake and those filthy hyenas. Save the Lions.
anyone else is pissed these mo fos didnt do shit to help the dying lions and then run to peta about protection and shit?...let nature run its course?..since the beginning of modern civilization we havent done more than fuck up the course of nature...
If you honestly think that a highly venomous snake like a cobra cant kill a lion or tiger than you have no idea what you are talking about. Their venom is extremely potent and could kill a rhino or elephant yet alone a much smaller big cat. Cats are fast and could certainty avoid the strikes and kill the cobra without getting bitten[ and a cobra is one of the slowest striking venomous snakes] but a bite from a cobra or any other highly venomous snake would likely mean death
@TA152H01 You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Their are many snakes that can kill adult eleohants and adult rhinos[ probably about 10 or so]. And they are probably at least 20 that could kill a full grown tigers. I can post many articles of snakes killing rhinos and elephants and big cats. Please fir the of god dont talk about things you know nothing about! You just make your self sound stupid
Snakes bite an envenomate plenty of things that they cant eat. Kraits often go into peoples homes at night and then aggressively bite and envenomate sleeping people. Venom isnt just for killing small animals, its also used for defence against larger animals. Their are many accounts of cobras and king cobras biting elephants. Does a cobra think it can consume an elephant? No of course not, the elephant got to close and the cobra aggressively defended itself
The cobra only killed the cubs. The lioness survived. She was sick for a week then rejoined the pride. Cowardly lions? Wow let me guess, another pathetic tiger fan with anger issues because the only videos of his favorite animal shows it killing baby ostriches and monkeys. lol tiger videos blow.
First, we don't see the attack at all. Second, the snake wouldn't attack something unless it were threatened or could eat it. Poison is hard to rebuild, and they don't want to waste it. Then it goes after the cubs? Why? Snakes are pretty predictable, and don't waste venom.
Third, the cat wouldn't react like that unless it were seriously defective.
@yobro250 A tabby cat can kill a rattlesnake, and they do.
This video is obviously fake. A snake does not want to use venom unless it has to, or to eat. It takes energy to recreate it, and they dislike doing it.
Why would a snake attack things it can't eat? And then keep doing it?
Why would a mother cat not kill it? Even with a strike, it takes time before it has an effect. The cat could kill it instantly. Why do we not see a strike?
I have cats and yes they do on occassion kill rattlers[ Im from north carolina] but I have lost many many cats and dogs to snakebite, and frankly your comments were just completely incorrect.. As for the rest of your post, it is also very incorrect. It is true that cobra do give many dry bites, but other snakes are much more likely to fully envenom. Vipers will bite and envenomate anything that gets within a foot of them as will some elapids. Kraits often bite people who are sleeping
@yobro250 Unless the cat is old, it will virtually never get killed by a snake. Your post is plain wrong. Dogs, yes, they are slow and clumsy. Bobcats hunt poisonous snakes for food.
Your post is garbage, you have masses of cats and dogs, so that you could lose plenty of them? Tsk, tsk, come back to reality.
@TA152H01 Actually the camera crew followed her when she left the pride to have her cubs. After a couple of days she moved them, for safety's sake, every predator can smell new life. Tragically, she chose a tree where this cobra was living and it would not tolerate them this close so it bit them all. Five days later the venom had worn off. She returned to her pride and the next encounter with hyenas she was extremely ferocious...Perhaps she remembered. National Geographic did the filming.
@TA152H01 The snake was shedding its skin hence why it attacked aggressivly[ snakes are more aggressive when they shed their skin]. The rest of your post is omplete garbage. Snake are able to make more venom very quickly.
@yobro250 The snake would attack only if threatened, or it could eat the prey. The cats were resting, and not threatening it. Snakes try to preserve venom, as they are vulnerable after they use it, and certainly would not attack a mother lion and her kittens. It wouldn't even have enough venom.
Why didn't we see the attack on any of them? Bogus.
Cats kill Cobras all the time. Even Leopards. They have footage of a leopard cub killing King Cobras. This Lion was just incompetent. She lies down when a snake comes near her? One shot and the snake is dead. But, nope, she lies down.
Nature has a way of dealing with these incompetents, and it's sad and ugly.
This is way 2 sentimental, the underlying motive is to make people even more insensitive to snakes, snakes r constantly struggling against victimization from mammals like these.
@TheOmegaBoy very good point. Snakes (including cobras) are killed and eaten regularly by Lions, Tigers, Leopards, etc. This is unusual to see a cobra come out on top. They won't show a Lion killing a cobra and feeding it to their cubs because it doesn't fit their agenda.
Hahaha lions losing again, very funny. King Cobra FTW. Shows a big lion is nothing more than an oversized dog, while the cobra is a precision professional killer.
i love snakes but feel bad for the lion to get bit by a cobra with that venom would be very painfull it would be a horrible death for the lion. i guess just the facts of life in place but sad....
Simple, no damm cobra can match up to a shotgun" I saw one in the mountains, acting all tuff at me, I just aimed my shotgun to its head, and pulled the trigger" it became a headless cobra in a matter of seconds" if you do like it did, be sure that your shotgun has a choke, or a choke tube"
wait the lioness lived, i've seen this documentary on tv the cubs died and she was about die she even fought hyenas at night in her weak state but in the end she recovers what's with the lion hatred?
@redemption136 WOW! your thought is fucking idiotic... first of all, the sense of purpose of my message was to say that humans can interrupt with nature because we are part of it, BUT no one says that we can do it with all cases. You should understand that there are different cases and conditions in this world. So stop being so immature and stop trying to prove that you are an idiot trying to prove that you are the dumbest...

yobro250 1 year ago
@yobro250 The snake would attack only if threatened, or it could eat the prey. The cats were resting, and not threatening it. Snakes try to preserve venom, as they are vulnerable after they use it, and certainly would not attack a mother lion and her kittens. It wouldn't even have enough venom.
Why didn't we see the attack on any of them? Bogus.
TA152H01 1 year ago
Cats kill Cobras all the time. Even Leopards. They have footage of a leopard cub killing King Cobras. This Lion was just incompetent. She lies down when a snake comes near her? One shot and the snake is dead. But, nope, she lies down.
Nature has a way of dealing with these incompetents, and it's sad and ugly.

stupid people commenting this only shoes how animals have emotions it was heartbreaking to see the lioness reaction really really sad
TheBlackPrince26 1 year ago
This is way 2 sentimental, the underlying motive is to make people even more insensitive to snakes, snakes r constantly struggling against victimization from mammals like these.
TheOmegaBoy 1 year ago
@TheOmegaBoy very good point. Snakes (including cobras) are killed and eaten regularly by Lions, Tigers, Leopards, etc. This is unusual to see a cobra come out on top. They won't show a Lion killing a cobra and feeding it to their cubs because it doesn't fit their agenda.

Kay kid. The next time you see an insect dying in some spider's web, you go save it's ass then.
redemption136 1 year ago
@redemption136 WOW! your thought is fucking idiotic... first of all, the sense of purpose of my message was to say that humans can interrupt with nature because we are part of it, BUT no one says that we can do it with all cases. You should understand that there are different cases and conditions in this world. So stop being so immature and stop trying to prove that you are an idiot trying to prove that you are the dumbest...
