Bought it today, watched it today. It's an expensive DVD, but it was worth it. All of the basics of portrait lighting are in there, well-explained and depicted.
I don't intend to use natural lighting (I want the more controlled environment of a studio) but the concepts I learned in this DVD were a huge leap in my (portrait beginner's) knowledge and skill, as I apply the concepts to studio lighting.
This video is a great learning tool that will provide you the knowledge to create stunning portraits with available light. It will show you things that you might have forgotten or never thought of. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut and this is just the tool to help pull out some amazing ideas. It will show you that you don't need tons of expensive equipment to produce great portraits.
If you can't take her class buy the video or better yet do both, you will be glad that you did.
Very impressive. I bought the DVD on the calumet website based on what I saw in the trailer. It's not only informative, but entertaining. I especially like the part at the end of each chapter when Bobbi Lane reviews the photos. NIce touch!
This is what I've been looking for...a cool lighting DVD that doesn't look like a boring workshop. Bobbi Lane is an excellent photographer and teacher!
