@SAIKORO93Wii You will ploy through it pretty fast, and it isn't so hard unless you do play on Hard mode where there's less platforms to jump on and more aggressive enemies, but the arranged music and the looks of the game makes the whole experience worth it. :3

@msw0322 I agree~ Akumajou Dracula on Super Famicom (or SCV4 on SNES) is my favorite of all time. Great music, it looks so cool, and it requires reflexes and skill to beat. That, Akumajou Densetsu (CV3 on NES) and Chi no Rondo (Rondo of Blood) are all great. Actually, all the games are awesome in their own way~ :3

@deltok I found Lords of Shadow quite good, its just something very different from the other old school CVs, so you can't really compare the games. Sure, if you want the old school platformer type and buy Lords of Shadow, a 3D fighter much like God of War, what do you expect? There is only one Castlevania I didn't enjoy playing, and that was Lament of Innocence. I played it for the story only, the rest of the CVs had good gameplay.
To all you none Wii owners who're so desperate for this game, just buy a Wii for crying out loud. Get over your "It's for kids" and you might find you enjoy more than this game alone for the system!!!
I gotta say the more I play wii the more I'm convinced its a game system designed for kids and chicks and other non hard core gamers, but hey chicks like wii and I like chicks, buy this game was a bonus for me, but I gotta say the PS3 is the gaming system for true gamers
@bfg2600 I own a PS3/Xbox 360 and I think you're seriously mistaken to mislabel the Wii as such. I also find it shows disrespect to me and other adults who own the Wii. The Wii does suffer from alot of poor titles that do nothing for it's image, but there ARE some excellent HARDCORE games available for it if you happen to overlook the crap filling the shelf space. I won't try to win you, but you are wrong to blind eye the Wii if you're into Hardcore games, because it does have some great ones

It's a fusion of Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines (Genesis). I like it. I never cared for Super Castlevania 4. Symphony was good, but too easy. The GBA games were all right, never played the DS games.
I've been playing all CV games since the first one on the NES and this one has been extremely enjoyable after the long row of Metroid-style CastleVanias in recent years. Hard but never unfair. Great game.

The game looks Great. It reminds me a little of Castlevania Chronicles, but with a more clean Graphics. A couple of Things, though:
1) Some Sound Effects looks Cartoonish, like when the Skeleton throw a Bone, I think I heard that Sound in a Tiny Toon Game :S
2) I've Played Super Castlevania IV and I found it kinda Boring. Bloodlines, Though, I felt it Really Amazing. The characters are smaller, yes, but in many ways I found it Superior to SC IV. Just my opinion :S
why they would make a remake of a remake? there're too many remakes of the original story (featuring simon)... why not a remake of dracula's curse? it would be a lot better, huh? ;)
God, the game looks so clean. I was worried that the game would be phoned in and rehash some Dracula X sprites and cells. Clearly they didn't.
And the price (1,000 Wii Points or $10) feels spot on. It's about time the industry realizes that games cost too much. Good for Kanami! I hope they clean up with it and do it again.
The only thing I can even remotely criticize is you can tell they didn't do the rotoscoping that was in Symphony, but for the budget I can see why...

Even though he has a whip I don't get that old castlevania feeling, more like its something different with the casltevania logo on it. It kind of has that "wth is this" feeling that Ninja Gaiden did on the Sega Master System in the way that it looks like him and acts like him, but its not him. Specially since it was advertised on a few sights as being a "regenerated version of the original 2D side-scrolling Castlevania". The boss music and bosses look cool but it doesn't add anything special :(
SOTN is a classic, of course, and I'm thankful that it revivied the Castlevania series. But I'm soooo tired of playing through the exact same game over and over and over and over. Six Symphony clones on the Nintendo handhelds, and every one was a cakewalk.
I'd most like to see another Simon's Quest or Dracula's Curse...yeehh!! Konami needs to take cues from New Super Mario Bros.

I LOVED the music on Castlevania IV. It was so spooky and atmospheric, and really showcased the music sampling on the Super Nintendo. I remember this one time I was playing while my dorm roommate was sleeping, and he told me the moody piano music (waterfall scene) gave him nightmares. Hah!

@DBoy2029 Having bought the game and played through most of it, I kind of have to retract my last statement. Its labeled as a remake, was advertised as a remake, but its actually almost nothing like the original Castlevania Adventure. It just has the eyeballs and a fire shooting whip.
The thing about Contra ReBirth and now Castlevania ReBirth, is that they're not sequals to the previous titles. they feel like remixes with alot of the stuff thrown in from the previous games yet with new stuff added. hell all of the music is remixed and from previous games, so in ways it's kind of hard to compare this to the previous titles from the franchise...
anyways! Castlevania ReBirth is still a solid title. I love the 2nd and 3rd stages music, even though they are remixes. And It's the easiest Castlevania game i've ever played which is somewhat dissapointing. but hey man, definintly a step up from Contra ReBirth. Castlevania ReBirth is definitly the weakest castlevania game besides II: Simon's Quest, but it's stil a wicked game.

I'd most like to see another Simon's Quest or Dracula's Curse...yeehh!! Konami needs to take cues from New Super Mario Bros.
This game totally makes up for that shit fighitng title. Yuck! All is forgiven.

for to long have we castlevania fans wished to explore outside the castle once again, and not another SoTN clone. This looks amazing, only grip i have is they should have given us the SUPER Castlevania IV whip controls.

@JokinJoe I prefered the SNES sound on Castlevania IV personally, it allowed for more tone. Megadrive always seemed a bit screechy to me.

I LOVED the music on Castlevania IV. It was so spooky and atmospheric, and really showcased the music sampling on the Super Nintendo. I remember this one time I was playing while my dorm roommate was sleeping, and he told me the moody piano music (waterfall scene) gave him nightmares. Hah!
Good times. Konami has been phoning in this series for too long. Good to see a real Castlevania again.

Super Castlevania IV in my humble opinion had the best damn intro and introduced one of the best damn Castlevania songs in existence (Simon's Theme was all that it was called)

I got SOTN downloaded got it for the PS1 too,beat it about 5 times.Can't wait for LOS.I thinki it would be great if konami would do a remake of all the CV from the 8 bit and 16 bit with updated graphics like Bionic Comm. RA.I'll be more than happy to pay $15 for any of those.

Ah... that would explain the giant eyeballs (which appeared only in the GB Castlevania games pre GBA.
And that boss battle--that was the theme of Dracula's second form in Haunted Castle (the arcade game). They must love recycling old game musics! They're so old they're new! :D

@DBoy2029 Having bought the game and played through most of it, I kind of have to retract my last statement. Its labeled as a remake, was advertised as a remake, but its actually almost nothing like the original Castlevania Adventure. It just has the eyeballs and a fire shooting whip.

The thing about Contra ReBirth and now Castlevania ReBirth, is that they're not sequals to the previous titles. they feel like remixes with alot of the stuff thrown in from the previous games yet with new stuff added. hell all of the music is remixed and from previous games, so in ways it's kind of hard to compare this to the previous titles from the franchise...

anyways! Castlevania ReBirth is still a solid title. I love the 2nd and 3rd stages music, even though they are remixes. And It's the easiest Castlevania game i've ever played which is somewhat dissapointing. but hey man, definintly a step up from Contra ReBirth. Castlevania ReBirth is definitly the weakest castlevania game besides II: Simon's Quest, but it's stil a wicked game.
