Listening to 50's King you can easily see why he was championed by all of those 60's British guitarists. Although often imitated he's never been equaled.

This is prime B.B.King, probably played on his 1953 Les Paul, with heavy (Di Armond) strings. B didn't use light-gauge strings back then, he told our mutual friend Duster Bennett. He must have had strong hands, like Stevie Ray.

It's great to hear this. I first heard it in 1970 and it has remained a firm favourite.
