This is a fantastic model and presentation! I just have one question to help with my own sketchup presentation: how did you remove the roof of the suites to look inside? I need to animate my stadium to show moving parts and can't figure out how to do this except for "undoing" (control+z) and thus mimicking a change. Once again, this is amazing, nice work!
@hrouclkeesy You have to create a section and then save that as one of your scenes. Sketch Up automatically generates the animation. I don't think, however, that you will be able to animate any moving parts. For that you will need dedicated software. Thanks for the comment!
@beastmoder112 - Perhaps one day. I will tell you, for now, we started the design with a complete autocad drawing of each floor. The most difficult part is starting the model. You must import the ground floor drawing into Sketchup and use it as a guide for the model. You will draw walls and everything else off of the base drawing so that everything is to scale. Google has made it very easy to learn their software and therefore I will just point you to their website with tutorial videos.outofroom
It took probably 20-30 hours total. I used Purdue iTap computers. The key, when working with a lot of detail, is to make use of scenes. Set up a couple scenes each with different amounts of shading, lines, edges, etc so that when you need to work on something specific you can, and when you want to see the model as a whole you can switch on all the layers.
dude this is right up my alley... i love new facilities! the right field fence is a really nice idea! No doubt five stars:). oh and its just a lil better then wat they have now lol
