Self loathing little punk ass swedes, Hedman has been down right brutal this year for Tampa Bay, their only ray of light has been Stamkos and his race to 50 goals and 90+ points in his sophomore year. I've watched plenty of Tampa Bay games this year and Hedman annually gets burnt from the outside, makes bad, ill-advised outlet passes that go right to other teams stick, I question his hockey IQ greatly, Tyler Myers has more upside than him.

Could Hedman surpass Bobby Orr to become the greatest blueliner in history? I certainly think he has a shot: he's bigger, stronger, probably smarter and having better vision and sense. Even if he doesn't have Orr's stickwork ability or skating, he'll certainly hold his own in both departments against Orr, while using other advantages to his advantage.
I wouldn't say anything like that until he at least becomes an elite defender in the league. Bobby Orr won the Norris Trophy 8 times. Niklas Lidstrom, the best d-man of the last 10 years won it 6 times. (good for third most all time) Before you anoint this kid as the best player of all time, lets see if he can dominate first.

KHL is MUUUUCH more professional then NHL, NHL teams train 40 minutes a day during the season, and once a day during the offseason, the KHL trains twice a day in the off season each practice session is 2-3 hours.....and during the season they practice 2 hours a day...and the hockey in Europe is way more sophisticated and tactics are way more complex, look at the last 2 World Championships and all the goals Russia scores, its not crash the net and look for rebounds its tic tac toe!

I saw Victor Hedman play in the Lightning prospects scrimmage last night. I think once the owners get their heads out of their rears they will be headed in the right direction. Victor Hedman is not only huge but he's also very quick. Its going to be fun to watch him and Steven Stamkos on the same ice along with Vinnie and Marty. Not saying we will be in the playoffs or anything but things have got to looking up!

Could Hedman surpass Bobby Orr to become the greatest blueliner in history? I certainly think he has a shot: he's bigger, stronger, probably smarter and having better vision and sense. Even if he doesn't have Orr's stickwork ability or skating, he'll certainly hold his own in both departments against Orr, while using other advantages to his advantage.

I wouldn't say anything like that until he at least becomes an elite defender in the league. Bobby Orr won the Norris Trophy 8 times. Niklas Lidstrom, the best d-man of the last 10 years won it 6 times. (good for third most all time) Before you anoint this kid as the best player of all time, lets see if he can dominate first.

I'm sure you consider him takin "cheapshots" on esposito when hittin Markstrom in the U20WC last year. It's like Canada as a nation depends on Tavares being better than Hedman. Even 5 seasons in the Elitserien won't give you the experience of 1 year in KHL....Jagr, Fedorov, Hudler, Morozov, Zubov, Yashin, Kozlov, Radulov, Saprykin....if you play against those guys, you play against Stanley Cup champs and top NHL scorers, who can pass on golden knowledge.

Where are you coming from? Do you even know what NHL is? NHL is more hardcore and more professional ( I get really pissed of when i hear that you are not paying your players f u!) then the KHL. Jagr is old and not so good anymore and Jiri Hudler left cause he didn't get the ice time he deserved ( in his opinion). What? KHL is MUUUUCH more professional then NHL, NHL teams train 40 minutes a day during the season, and once a day during the offseason, the KHL trains twice a day in the off season each practice session is 2-3 hours.....and during the season they practice 2 hours a day...and the hockey in Europe is way more sophisticated and tactics are way more complex, look at the last 2 World Championships and all the goals Russia scores, its not crash the net and look for rebounds its tic tac toe!

Good now we are getting to an agreement. Russian players are probably more technical on the ice and there hockey is more my taste, but of the ice the leaders are not so good, even with mutch money, thats why I think that most of the russian professionals will stay in NHL

Mos def...unless the KHL delivers on its promises, they will have HD television coverage next year, not only Locally, but also Finland, Sweden, Romania and some other countries are gonna be covering the league, not to mention if the league allows Swedish, Swiss and Finnish teams to join in, it will grow a lot faster....It lacks marketing though, if you look at the NHL commercials they are very catchy, the KHL has like what 2-3 commercials out to this date lol

The KHL doesn't pay the players?? there's over 10 players in the KHL who receive a 6-7 million dollar salary, but don't forget that the KHL is in need of league progress not player progress the players are fine, the league it self needs media, marketing and all those things.
The NHL you are correct has over 100 years, but remember that it collapsed more then once with the Lockout situation and they started from square, overall you'll see what happens with the KHL...

And second, Markstrom dove ONCE. He dove when Cormier pushed the defenceman into him. He was taken down by cheap hits, at times, but never dove after that first fabrication.

I saw Victor Hedman play in the Lightning prospects scrimmage last night. I think once the owners get their heads out of their rears they will be headed in the right direction. Victor Hedman is not only huge but he's also very quick. Its going to be fun to watch him and Steven Stamkos on the same ice along with Vinnie and Marty. Not saying we will be in the playoffs or anything but things have got to looking up!

I was right when I predicted Tavares would go first, I was correct when I predicted Pens would win the Cup, and here's one more.....Leafs will not make the playoffs for the next 4 years. Burke has got to be the worst GM the Leafs have ever had. haha swedes play like little girls? you gotta be kidding me. im a canucks fan and we got 5 tough swedes on our team. recently, daniel sedin's mouth had gotten pretty messed up, so he had to go to the locker room for stitches. next shift, daniel is still out on the line and drives right to the net and scores a goal, only then he went to the locker room. im not even gonna start with ohlund, sundin and edler. as for hedman, he will be one of the best defencemans in the league in his 3rd-4th year.

The Avs can never replace Joe S. And need defense badly so hedman would be perfect for them and as long as he isnt one of the players who get injured the Avs can go a long way with a healthy team

Hedman kicks Tavares ass, Tavares is really lazy on the ice and not really quick.
Sure if you say Hedman needs to work his physical play - but it's far better and easier to work that when your 198cm/6'7, than working on your skating or technique.

Who wouldn't want a 6'7 Niedermeyer? problem with Hedman is that he is too soft. He will never be the next Pronger unless he starts being mean. He can learn, though, and the NA game is much more physical. Chara had to go through the same thing. If Hedman was physical now, he'd be the #1 draft pick. But he is leaving just enough doubt in peoples minds that they cant pick him over Johnny T. These 2 will save franchises, and I hope Atlanta gets one of them. Im a Coyote fan, so Im hoping as well.

Chara didn't go through it because Chara was a monster in Prince George of the WHL. He was a dominant physical player who gladly dropped the gloves. It was the offensive side of the game that Chara had to learn - despite his booming shot being what caught Milbury's eye. FWIW.

because he's busy playing in a PROFESSIONAL league against MEN up to double his age and above. 90% of the kids in juniors (canada) wouldn't survive one period in the elitseren whereas hedman would embarass the junior league
