this movie gave vampires exactly what they were due for, that being a fresh breathe of air. their language gives them tremendous depth in the fact that they aren't just monsters rather that they are superior predatory animals with incredible insight into the problems that perplex humans on a day to day basis. get into the movie mechanics all you want and judge it based on comparison or expectation, but there's really some hearty quotes in hear, and the movie has alot to be taken from it

I HATED this movie w/a passion. As you said, it was ridiculously long, and I was also longing for the time to pass. I was going to see it in theatres, but, thankfully, I waited for cable. It wasn't even worth that!

In reality, hiding in the attic without sanitation would create body odor that would draw the Vampires right to them. Then, wouldn't the outside world of friends and family call the military or state police, after three days of no telephone contact ? Plus nobody in town had any harpoons in a fish hunting area. But aside from that, I LOVED THIS FILM !!!! It was great ! They must do a sequel !

Ok to tackle ur theories, the cold would impede that the odor would fully dissipate over the area and the high velocity winds would help either. Contact wouldn't worry that much cuz they now its isolated and odds are they were hit by a big storm and cant communicate. Finally, I only saw 1 person who was a fisher/whaler, and why use a harpoon when u have a gun, + god know where they keep the harpoons and if they can get to them. But yea Like u I loved this film and its one of my favorites

Gotta disagree, while the character dynamics are flawed, the action sequences and the cinematography alone, make this film mind blowing, and while not fully scary..it's a refreshing look at the vampire. Don't let the reviews scare you off, since a lot of them have the same points..I think they are just copying each other. If you are looking for true horror reviews, from fans of the genre, goto Bloody-Disgusting, ignore these type of reviewers.

First of all the Vamps need some time to eat what they kill so all that time you say they should be looking for them they are eating what they have second the personification of the Vamps and thier language gave them an intriging history. But as for Horror Vampire flicks which aren't many i thought it was rock solid yes it was pretty cliched, but in all honesty the charachters really aren't all that stupid compared to alot of other horror movies out there, i really liked the mood and the brutality of the flick all the way through.

I coulnt disagree more really. I only looked at my watch once in this film and that a good 3/4 of the way through. I thought the gore was good. The suspence parts were done neatly. You never really had the feeling the humans had the upper hand untill the end. These guys are dopes. 30 Days was the best vampire film I've seen in a LONG time. They weren't cool, urbane hipsters like in Buffy or similar kiddie flicks. It was like 28 Days later, but with vampires. Except the vampires were smart, not just psychotic vomiting zombies. Very brutal, very cool and well worth watching! I think these two reviewers have become too film-snobby for their own good.
