@tinoman2 no wonder the world thinks we're a bunch of arrogant pricks... people like you have to throw random stupid comments like this into footage of a disaster abroad. I'm a very patriotic and proud American with ancestor's settled here before we even were the ''usa'', but pride and arrogance are two different things. Stop giving us a bad name, you're just feeding into the stereotypical American image.
@cookyquiamsone Hallo! according to uncertain (internet) sources the ships value would be approximatively 463,9 Million Euro (600 Million USD) Hope this info helps!
i guess the cpt of the ship is hving dinner at that time together wth the finest pax onboard.so the duty offcers on the bridge are incharge, whoever they are i think the're incompetent on there duties. so whatever hapens to her(ship) the cpt is full responsible anyway. they are all lucky coz it hapens near the island, badluck to all the victims who panic and jump overboard
Did anyone see pics of the dancer girl the captain was drinking and flirting with before the wreck? Honestly, she's smoking hot I would have been pretty distracted too
this was the equivalent of "barn storming', i think, the captain was trying to go close by land so the passengers would be impressed, and maybe people on land would be impressed at seeing the ship so close, but he made a mistake that will end his life as he knew it.
This is a tragedy, can not understand why people are having petty arguements about nationality, people died aboard this vessel, The master of the vessel is at fault and the buck stops with him, I am sure Crew of many different nationalities did as they are trained to do and manned their muster stations, I suspect the loss of life would have been far greater had they not, a fact nobody seems to have mentioned.
What is with all of this American Nationalism? Wait, let me guess. A red, white, and blue blooded American ship captain would never make such a mistake! I believe Joseph Hazelwood, captain of the Exxon Valdez, is a red, white, and blue blooded American ship captain. The earth revolves around the sun, not the United States.
Okay lets Not Blame Countries for a dumb ass ship Captain being an Ass but Seriously If the United states goes under you all will fall right behind us
Sue Carnival and dump the stock. they pay no tax and treat employees like trash. Could not have happened to a better company sorry for the people but was just a matter of time.
@djjk12 There is no point sueing Carnival Cruises over this tragedy because they had nothing to do with it. The Costa Concordia is owned by Costa Cruises not by Carnival.
@djjk12 Costa are an autonomous subsidary, once again Carnival Cruises had nothing to do with this. What the hell is a democrate? If you mean someone who loves democracy then yes.
@ornitorrinco01 You must be European! As you seem to have no understanding in finance. Costa is owned by Carnival perhaps you should look at the stock price of Carnival now. The families will be getting checks from Carnival the same people that put them up in Hotel And who finally is apologizing for killing people!
@djjk12 Sure they will be getting checks from Carnival, because passengers in the US book through Carnival, most passengers in other countries can book directly through Costa. The Concordia is owned by Costa who are based in Italy and are a small autonimous subsidary of Carnival. The accident clearly had nothing to do with whoever the parent company may have been so your original point was moot.
@djjk12 "You must be European! As you seem to have no understanding in finance."
That's funny, are you suggesting that if someone is European then they have no idea about finance? You're American right? Isn't the USA the place where the GFC started in the first place? Home of the sub-prime mortgage crisis, land of the forclosure. Up their eyeballs in debt to China. Homeless families living in their cars. Yeah sounds like you guys are financial geniuses.
@djjk12 Oh Canada, the country that has more government debt than Greece and Spain. Nice try pretending your Canadian, I just clicked your profile, it says United States... you know the country where the Global Financial Crisis started.
@ornitorrinco01 You must be from Greece as you have not understanding of business. Carnival owns several cruise lines and costa is one if Carnival went broke they all would.
@djjk12 Actually when a parent company goes broke it is very possible for subsidaries to be sold on to another company or to continue operating independently. So no they would not necessarily all go broke if Carnival goes broke.
