True that Richards didn't have the same kind of first season as Backstrom, but if you think Backstrom has room for improvement, you might be overestimating him. He's pretty much as developed as he's gonna get. He'll be consistent as a point getter, but he's not gonna get much better.

The Caps' defensman needs to strengthen his legs; he shouldn't have crumbled into his own goalie like that; that was crazy! Noodle legs they called him after that.
