  • The average life of the printhead is around 1 million inches, we have seen many print heads with as much as 3 million inches. Keeping the print head clean will definitely extend its life but there is no way to say for sure how much.

  • If you purchase genuine Zebra media (labels and ribbon) you may be eligible for the "Printheads for Life" program.

The average life of a printhead varies and depends on many factors: label quality, print speed, printhead pressure on the platen roller, the amount of label coverage, and the environmental conditions.

  • Err, common 250 is what I mean.

  • How long will you average print head last ?

I got one of these o nthe way, a TLP 3844-Z, in any case, there's not much difference between them. However, I plan on using what appears to be the max size roll of about 400 labels. Thats not to much more than the common 150... in any case, I like the idea of cleaning it after every roll swap but we get back to my original question. How long should your average print head last provided you clean it on every roll change ?

  • Thanks very much, this was very helpful!

  • THANK YOU
