  • was galois left handed?

  • co le Ga-Loa bi giet boi vi mot trong nhung nguoi tan cua nguoi phu nu kia da co thu oan gi voi Ga-Loa

  • ive got an essay to write about him, and the information said in this video will be great to build up on to write my essay! Nice one :)

  • awsome work..............and eternal respect to galois

  • Without his work, there is no internet or any type of global scale computer networks. Respect him.

  • It is of my understanding that the woman who Evariste was in loved at was named Eve Sorel and not Stephani. Can you confirm where do you get this info?

  • @Carlosrv19 I think you (or the root of your information) must have read a book by Leopold Infeld called "Whom The Gods Love: The Story of Evariste Galois". In this half-fiction half-biography, he makes the girl's name Eve Sorel for some reason. I have no idea why he would make up that name. Or maybe someone else made up the name before him.

  • Galois theory found application in electrical engineering. I became surprised when I found the pure math stuff like Galois theory being applied in digital communication.

  • hahaha, it's soooo funny like these people don't even know how to pronounce his name in the right way.

  • What are the songs used in this vid?

  • Who knows who killed him ? One can only presume of what Galois could have done , with some more years to live . Just a thought to the many Galois from the whole world over , who will never use theire great mental power because of poor life conditions and cupid stupid governments .

  • bacano su trabajo, pero les PIDO que remplazen la sangre 'de Evaristo' QUE ESO PARECE SALSA DE TOMATE POR ALGO QUE SI SE VEA MAS REAL. pPA LA PROXIMA.

  • Jua jua jua, me ahorraste el comentario, amigo.

  • It is very good but just one thing

I'm not so sure that he set the basis of modern geometry. Maybe it should be modern algebra or something like that.

  • @bioken007

Galois theory also gives us which polygons are constructable with a ruler and a compass. Galois also solved the problems of antiquity. A lot of his work related abstract algebra and geometry.

  • he wasn't estupid in practical matters, he have a lot of passion for everything he did, if he didn't reacted the way he did, he wouldn't be himself, that was just the way he was.

  • Fine job.I really enjoyed this creative and finely tuned biography documentary.

Galois is the Christopher Marlowe of theoretical mathematics. The personal stories of Newton and Gauss were not particularly interesting. The Galois story, however, is riveting.

But it`s so sad that Galois died at such a young age.Had he lived longer -perhaps he would have acieved comparable discoveries to Newton and Gauss.

  • Sería fabuloso ver este video con subtítulos en español.

  • Wow thats just what i need to write my report

  • Imagine what Galois would have accomplished if he wouldn't have lost his life that early over a chick. Brilliant mathematician who was utterly stupid in practical matters.

  • stephanie = ada lovelace

  • this video is a very deep result it implies youtube

  • awesome job guys, galois has been one of my fav mathematicians for awhile, shoulda included how he got all drunk in jail and embarrassingly rambled on about how much he was whipped over that chick (hits close to home for a lotta us who get drunk and say embarrassing things...)

    either way good job

  • wow. thanks for the kind words. this was a project for class. hope your frustration was worth every word.

  • @NickVagalis he could involve with politics? tehe, you don't talk right!

  • oh i read his book poor guy:(

  • he is a true french badass

  • really great to see the visual story of Galois. Thanks a lot Scott.

  • really great to see the vitual story of Galois. Thanks a lot Scott.

  • it's great that someone here makes a proper homage to the late great mathematician, well done my friend

    -jPaul

  • Thank god at least one person knows what Galois actually proved (Thank you, Scott).

This would actually make a very good mathematics. It's a running theme in Hollywood mathematicians are nothing but crazy loons who happen to be geniuses and lack all other life skills.

Galois died in a duel--how fucking awesome is that? (Not for him, but still, makes a great movie!)

    VIVA GALOIS!

  • Great job...it was so well done that I was disappointed it ended so quickly

  • they should make a movie about him. Let's see who could play him... hmm maybe Seth Rogen!

  • He didn't "Give strong evidence to the existence of polynomials with no solutions in radicals"

He proved that for any polynomial of degree 5 or higher there is no general solution in radicals.

Great movie though, I would love to see a full documentary on it.

Let me know if you need any information about him, or his work.

I am in 2nd year math, and can't get enough of Galois.

  • Abel proved there is no general radical solution in terms of coefficients to 5th degree or high polynomials. Galois theory tells us why this is and gives a way to tell whether any polynomial has a solution by radicals.

  • Wow, I like it, Scott, you've done well!

  • Babe, you make me proud...always. Great job. No wonder your teacher was so impressed!
