to remove the spark arrestor you simply take out the 3 screw/bolts in the end of the pipe, remove the cap, pull the spark arrestor out and then re-install the cap with the screw/bolts and your good to go! sounds like a beast. its a cheap temporary sound fix though. once you get the money, get a pipe :)

ive just checked mine and it doesnt have the two holes at the end of the exhaust?!?!? did u drill these out or were they already there? mine is 2008 too

hey how is the bike like is it like the yz250f and 450 f where you have to do oil changes like every 10 hours and check valves every 20? is it allot of maintenence?

@JustRide626 nah almost nothing like that for the x and r if kept off dirt for starter. valves at 10K and 25K or just 25K even

Hey if you want it to sound alot better run it without the end cap. It doesn't echo. Mine sounds good without the end cap, and without the spark arrestor.

@ama828 does it have any affects on the engine? removing the spark arrestor? because if you think about it, it would provide some back pressure for the engine and removing it would cause the bike to run a little off would it not?

Top speed is 92mph or around there, depending on your weight. And what ever the speed limit is for cruising speed!

Damn man it's about time someone put up a new video. Nice bike, i'm interested in the R version though. How's the gear shifting on these two bikes? Does it come with the tacometer to tell you when to shift? Or do you have to guess it?know it automatically?
