@Procidentia That's the entity of his act. Whether he was a genuine racist or whether it was just his stage persona we will probably never know. One thing is for sure, he knew how to tell jokes, although it's hard to put your finger on what his secret was. I suppose he was a bit of a Kalashnikov, not every one was perfectly on target but he fired plenty and when they hit they hit hard. He had a lot of material and he was a genuine shining wit - unlike his detractors who are quite the opposite.

@malpassjunior I agree I worked in the old cop shop opposite, we sorted out some stuff in his club, normally drunk miners from Barnsley who couldn't understand that he would make fun of them.Every year without fail he would come over at Christmas with bottles of beer and food for all the lads and lasses at the nick. A true gent. He also gave a years donations from his profits to Booth Hall Childrens Hospital to keep it open. one of the best and irreplaceable.

Paulmac - I don't get it though cos the fact is, white people are probably more likely than black people to be unemployed and/or live in council accomodation, and pakis usually run businesses or are academic professionals, and certainly the least likely to be 'underclass', so the joke would be funny if the white family all died because they were actually not out at work, which would reflect reality more, hence be a funny observation on modern Britain. Nice try though. ;)
