The Fiat Supermirafiori ad has a very specifically 1978 open, airy look. The caption at the end of the Skoda Super Estelle ad has a peculiarly compelling bleakness and *stylelessness* (I think the "man on the street on the road" font is the same one dropped by Radio Times in 1969!).
The car in the Chrysler ad is S-reg, so it's probably not the later part of 1978. At the end, we're clearly in summer 1978 because the TV Times ad is for 1-7 July that year.

"Tea - Best Drink of the Day". I've not seen that advert with the dog for nearly 30 years. Thanks very much for this and your excellent series of old adverts from LWT and Thames.

This was the era of powdered drinks and powdered food, now the pendulum has swung the other way and fresh food is the ideal.

One question, if Rawlings knew long before you-know-who, how come you-know-who is the better known brand?

During the communist era, Skoda were told what to build by the Soviet Union. Up to 1987 they were not allowed to make a car bigger than 1200cc

That Rise and Shine was like drinking a glass of sand.
Is that Brian Blessed doing v/o in the meat ad? A bit ironic methinks. And why advertise the stuff? Either you want it, or you don't.
